EARLY NOTIFICATION SAVE
Today’s call was a testimony to how important calling early is. A small whisp of smoke was spotted and the people did not hesitate. They got out and called 911. The fire crews found a small fire that was contained in the insulation in a tight crawl space. Thank goodness for smaller firefighters.
The homeowners can continue to stay home because of this early call for help.

You’ve asked and we’ve got the answer.
A lot of people are wondering:
“Do I really need a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm on every floor starting January 1?”
Answer: Yes, you do.

Ontario’s updated rule requires CO alarms adjacent to each sleeping area and on each storey of your home if your home has:
✔ a fuel burning appliance
✔ a fireplace
✔ an attached garage
✔ heated air from a fuel burning appliance that is located outside of the home

Why the change?
These changes help keep families safer, especially during winter when CO risks rise.
Stay informed. Stay protected.

Take a minute today to understand the new CO alarm rules: Ontario.ca/COSafety.
