Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos received U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Frank Garcia earlier today.

The two sides discussed ways of further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Ethiopia and the United States, including expanding trade, investment and commercial ties between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on regional peace and security issues of mutual interest.

It is recalled that Ethiopia and the United States held a bilateral structured dialogue in Washington, D.C., on May 11, 2026, focusing on three key areas: economic prosperity, trade and investment; defense and security cooperation; and the promotion of regional peace and stability.

Ambassador Tewodros Girma discussed with ’s Director General for Africa.

H.E. Ambassador Tewodros Girma, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of to , held a discussion today with H.E. Brian Clark, Director General for Central, Southern and Eastern Africa at Canada's International Trade and Global Affairs.

The discussion provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on current developments in Ethiopia and the wider region, as well as the evolving Ethiopia–Canada relationship and prospects for further strengthening bilateral ties.

The two sides explored avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, strengthening regional engagement, and identifying new opportunities for partnership and collaboration based on shared interests.

The meeting underscored the importance of building on the existing partnership and advancing practical areas of cooperation that can further deepen and broaden relations between Ethiopia and Canada.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedion Timothewos today held fruitful discussions with Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow.

The discussions focused on further strengthening the longstanding friendship between Ethiopia and Thailand and enhancing political and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.

The Ministers exchanged views on trade and investment, air transport connectivity, and people-to-people relations, as well as on capacity building, technical cooperation, climate change, and combating human trafficking.

The Ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening linkages between the business communities of the two countries and exploring new avenues for economic partnership.

Following the discussions, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to establish a political consultation mechanism aimed at institutionalizing bilateral cooperation, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the respective Chambers of Commerce.

The signing of the MoUs marks an important step toward translating the growing partnership between Ethiopia and Thailand into tangible areas of cooperation.

እንኳን ለ1501ኛው የነቢዩ መሐመድ(ሰዐወ) የመውሊድ በዓል አደረሳችሁ

የነቢዩ መሐመድ ታሪክ ትውልድን ለበጎ ከሚቀርጹ ታሪኮች መካከል አንዱ ነው፡፡ የተጠሩበትን ዓላማ ማክበር፤ ለተጠሩበት ዓላማ ዋጋ መክፈል፤ የተጠሩበትን ለሌሎች ማካፈል፤ የተጠሩበትን አክብሮ መኖር - እነዚህ ሁሉ ሺ መጻሕፍት የሚወጧቸው ትምህርቶች ናቸው፡፡

ነቢዩ የተጠሩበትን ዓላማ በሚገባ ስለተገነዘቡ አክብረው ኖረዋል፡፡ የተጠሩት ለተራና ርካሽ ነገር እንዳልሆነ ተገንዝበዋል፡፡ የተጠሩት ትውልድን ለመቅረጽና ታሪክን ለመቀየር መሆኑን አምነዋል፡፡ ያንንም በቃላቸው፣ በሥራቸውና በኑሯቸው አክብረውት ነኖረዋል፡፡ ለታላቅ ሀገራዊ ዓላማ ተጠርተናል ብለን የምናምን ከሆነ ይህ የነቢዩ ሕይወት ታላቅ ትምህርት ይሆነናል፡፡ የተጠራንበትን ዓላማ በንግግራችን፣ በሥራችንና በሕይወታችን እንግለጠው፡፡

ነቢዩ ለተጠሩበት ዓላማ ዋጋ ከፍለዋል፡፡ ከቦታቸው ተሰደዋል፤ ምግብና መጠለያ ተነፍገዋል፤ ከቤተሰቦቻቸው ተለይተዋል፡፡ ለሞት በሚያበቁ ፈተናዎች ውስጥ አልፈዋል፡፡ ጦርነት ተከፍቶባቸዋል፡፡ ነገር ግን ሁሉንም በአላህ ኃይል አሸንፈዋል፡፡ ክብር ያለ መከራ አይገኝምና፡፡ እውነተኛ ሰው ለዓላማው እንደ ነቢዩ መሐመድ(ሰዐወ)ዋጋ ይከፍላል፡፡ ዓላማው የሚያስገኘውን ክብርና ጥቅም ብቻ ሳይሆን ዓላማው የሚያስከፍለውን መሥዋዕትነት ለመክፈል ዝግጁ ይሆናል፡፡

ነቢዩ መሐመድ(ሰዐወ) ከአላህ የደረሳቸውን መልእክት ለራሳቸው ብቻ አላስቀሩም፡፡ የተጠሩበትን ለሌሎች ለማካፈል ተግተዋል፡፡ መጀመሪያ በጣት ለሚቆጠሩ ሰዎች፣ በኋላም ለቅርብ ሱሐባዎች፣ በመጨረሻም ለዓለም መልእክቱን አዳርሰዋል ፡፡ እሳቸው የዘሩት ዘር እያፈራና እየጎመራ ተጉዟል፡፡ ዓላማችንን እኛ ማወቃችንና ማመናችን ብቻ ጥቅም የለውም፡፡ ሌሎች እንዲያውቁና እንዲያምኑ ልክ እንደነቢዩ ተገትተን መድከም አለብን፡፡

የነቢዩን መውሊድ ስናከብር ከሕይወታቸው እየተማርን፤ የተማርነውንም ለሀገረ መንግሥት ግንባታችን እየተጠቀምን እንዲሆን አደራ እላለሁ፡፡

በድጋሚ መልካም የመውሊድ በዓል ይሁንልን።
