Canada strongly condemns Iran’s strikes against Kuwait, a clear violation of its sovereignty, territorial integrity and security. We stand in full solidarity with the Government and the people of Kuwait and call on Iran to immediately cease these attacks.

Canada will continue to engage with Kuwait, Gulf partners and the broader international community in support of de-escalation and a negotiated resolution to the conflict.

Canada unequivocally condemns Russia’s threat to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in Kyiv. Any such strikes would constitute a blatant violation of international law and represent a reprehensible escalation.

Canada conveyed directly to Russia and through a demarche, in the strongest possible terms, that it must fully respect its obligations under international law.

Prior notification does not absolve Russia of its responsibilities, nor does it excuse actions that threaten civilian lives. Canada will continue to stand with Ukraine until a just and lasting peace is achieved and beyond.

Canada strongly condemns the reckless incursion by a Russian drone into Romanian territory, causing damage and casualties. Our thoughts are with the injured. This is another egregious example of Russia’s complete disregard for the safety and security of civilians and the spillover risks of its illegal war of aggression against Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with Romania, our NATO Ally. The Alliance is unshakeable in its commitment to defend all its members.
