Rediscovering networking, that's what the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce put our team up to! 🦓💛

Our team wrapped up August at Coffee with the Chamber, hosted at the Edmonton Valley Zoo.
Who knew a morning at the zoo could grow your network too? Turns out, it's true! This wasn't just about collecting contacts, it was about connecting with people and local businesses doing incredible things in Edmonton. We also met others with great programs to consider for Veterans' House – Edmonton.

Thank you to the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, the sponsors, and everyone who helped bring Edmonton's business community together in such a fun way.

Veterans' House Canada is looking for a Community Development Manager to help launch on-site support and group programming at our new Edmonton home this fall!

A highly collaborative role at the heart of our mission: helping homeless veterans build a better future. You'll design trauma-informed programming, support Veteran tenants through mental health and housing challenges, and help foster a place where they genuinely thrive.

What you'll bring:
✅ 5+ years' experience in social services or community development
✅ A diploma or degree in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field

It is easy to get caught up in day-to-day work, new launches, or campaigns, but beyond these announcements, important work happens every day at our Ottawa home, the Andy Carswell Building.
Our Ottawa team remains hard at work supporting veterans who moved into their homes with us over the summer and are now taking the next steps toward a brighter, more stable future.

That is why this timely pantry donation from RIDERS 4 VETERANS means so much. ❤️
Finding a home is a critical first step, but it doesn’t mean every barrier disappears. A heartfelt thank you to Wanda and Mike for being among those partners who continue to show what community support looks like in action.

Last year, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Alberta's first permanent supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
Now it is time for Alberta's veteran-serving community to connect, collaborate, and show up for veterans who are precariously housed, at risk of homelessness, or experiencing homelessness.
