Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus The Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus is open to all Members of Parliament and Senators who are intereste Larry Bagnell, MP (LIB).

Co-Chaired by Bob Zimmer, MP (CON) and Ken McDonald, MP (LIB), the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus is a non-partisan group of Members of Parliament and Senators which represent the Canadian heritage activities of hunting, fishing, sport shooting and trapping. Canada 🇨🇦 and United States 🇺🇸 have worked together on conservation for 117+ years.

Feb 18, 1909, Theodore Roosevelt and Canadian Parliamentarians met in Washington in 1909 to form the basis of the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.

We in the 🇨🇦 Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus and the 🇺🇸 Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation continue that tradition working together to support our outdoor communities on conservation and their public access to fish and hunt.

Did you know Canada 🇨🇦 and the U.S. 🇺🇸 have worked together on conservation and preservation of public access for hunters and fishers for over 100 years?

Jeff Crane from the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation and I also speak on how true conservation works across party lines. “Conservation is not defined by party labels.”

Do you agree conservation should unite us?

Our shared 100+ year Canada-U.S. outdoor sporting heritage remains strong.

Happy National Hunting, Trapping and Fishing Day!

Ten years ago, as Member of Parliament, was proud to vote for my friend and former colleague MP Rick Norlock’s private member’s bill that established a National Hunting, Trapping and Fishing Heritage Day to be celebrated annually on the third Saturday of September.

As Canadians, we understand the importance of conservation, and those who hunt and fish for recreation or for food understand the need to manage this activity properly so it will be something that can be enjoyed for generations to come.

I hope you all had the chance to enjoy Hunting, Trapping and Fishing Day 2023!
