⚠️WINTER WEATHER PARKING BAN: JAN 26, 10AM - 7PM⚠️
Environment Canada has announced that this next snowfall is expected to bring between 15 to 20 cm of snowfall this evening and into tomorrow. A Winter Weather Parking Ban will be in effect tomorrow Thursday, January 26 from 10am to 7pm. During a winter weather parking ban, parking is prohibited on city streets so crews can plow easily and effectively. Vehicles parked on the street during a ban may be ticketed and towed. On-street monthly parking permit holders are exempt from this restriction when they are parked in residential parking permit zones. These hours might be extended if additional time is needed to complete winter road operations. For more winter parking information, please visit http://ow.ly/BLrY50MAyYK
All available resources will be deployed and working around the clock. Snow removal operations will resume once our storm response has ended. During the evening and overnight hours, the focus will be on clearing and treating sidewalks, priority roads, and the winter cycling network.
A reminder that conditions are messy and changing, and those who are out should drive to the conditions of the road. There is no need to create a service request for routine snow clearing. Our crews are on the job and their efforts are currently needed out in the community; service requests should only be created for emergencies. Finally, please place garbage, recycling, and organic collection bins in your driveway and not on the road or sidewalks.
The Roads and Parking Services team will continue to monitor the weather over the next 36 hours and adjust their response accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation and patience!
