We had an incredible time at the Okotoks Trade Show this weekend with our board members, supportive volunteers and of course, MLA RJ Sigurdson. We met so many fantastic people and had great conversations!

Our Highwood team displayed their ingenuity by bringing all our own furniture this time and so many cool artifacts to bring some extra Albertan flavor to our booth! We also had a lot of fun with our "Whats on Your Mind" whiteboard. It started many good discussions. Great to see so many local businesses thriving in and around Okotoks!

The Youth Spring Gala event was a big hit with 200 youth conservatives hearing from our Premier and getting the chance to ask all their buring questions! We are proud to say we had some Highwood representation there as well 🙌

We’ve seen a lot of questions about how Alberta’s portion of the fuel tax works, so here’s a quick breakdown:

Alberta’s Fuel Tax Relief Program is designed to provide savings when oil prices remain consistently high. For April through June 2026, the $80 per barrel threshold wasn’t reached.

With West Texas Intermediate (WTI) averaging $75.25, fuel tax relief will not be in effect this quarter. The program is reviewed every three months using sustained price averages to keep things predictable and stable.

The next review kicks off in mid-May, with any potential changes taking effect July 1.

We had a full house (125 people) at the Highwood UCP Property Rights Townhall with guest speaker Cory Morgan last night! We heard about the risks & challenges to property rights from Cory and had some great discussions! It is clear that this is an issue Albertans care deeply about. Lets keep the discussion going.
