High school isn’t one-size-fits-all 💙

For some students, finding success means having a smaller classroom, more individualized programming, and the right support in place to help them learn, grow, and build independence.

At Lighthouse, our high school program is built around the student in front of us-meeting them where they are while empowering them to work toward where they want to go.

As an inspected high school, we’re also able to offer Ontario high school credits, giving students the opportunity to work toward their OSSD in an environment designed to support their individual needs and goals ✨

Ready, Set, Learn!
After hearing from multiple families seeking a program to prepare their kids for the classroom, we’ve decided to open a space to fill that need. We would like to introduce you to Ready, Set, Learn!, a program designed to bridge the gap for our young learners to build the skills necessary to be successful in classroom and become more independent.

In Ready, Set, Learn! the child will:
* Be in a dedicated classroom with a 1 staff to 2 student ratio
* Be assessed by an Instructor Therapist using a modified ABLLS assessment every 6 months
* Participate in a structured learning environment and work on group goals
* Be able to attend consistently from September to August (available Monday to Friday, 9:00-3:30)
* Be able to attend part-time or full-time at the cost of $35 per hour (minimum attendance of 12 hours per week)

The skills focused on in Ready, Set, Learn! are:
* Classroom routines (start/end of day routine,  appropriate transitions, cleaning up after playing, etc.)
* Group instructions (sitting in a group, attending a group, raising their hand, etc.)
* Social skills (joint attention, turn taking, sharing, etc.)
* Functional play and leisure
* Communication skills
* Self-regulation (mindfulness activities, learning about emotions, tolerance to wait, etc.)
* Pre-academics (reading, writing, spelling and math)

This program is available starting this fall and we would love to have your child join us. We hope to hear from soon.
