في إطار جهود المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بكندا لدعم وتعزيز التعاون بين الجامعات المصرية والكندية، نظم المكتب لقاءً افتراضيًا جمع بين الأستاذ الدكتور/ محمد عبد العظيم، رئيس جامعة المنصورة الأهلية، والبروفيسور/ حسام حسانين، مدير كلية الحوسبة (School of Computing) بجامعة كوينز الكندية، بمشاركة الأستاذ الدكتور/ أحمد جابر، المستشار الثقافي ومدير البعثة التعليمية بكندا. تناول اللقاء بحث فرص التعاون الأكاديمي بين الجامعتين، خاصة في مجالات علوم الحاسب والتخصصات ذات الصلة، وإمكانية تطوير برامج أكاديمية مشتركة، إلى جانب تبادل الخبرات وتعزيز التعاون العلمي والبحثي. واتفق الجانبان على مواصلة التنسيق خلال الفترة المقبلة لبحث الخطوات التنفيذية وتحديد مجالات التعاون ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

As part of the efforts of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Canada to strengthen academic cooperation between Egyptian and Canadian universities, the Bureau organized a virtual meeting between Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, President of Mansoura National University, and Prof. Hossam Hassanein, Director of the School of Computing at Queen’s University, with the participation of Prof. Ahmed Gaber, Cultural Attaché and Director of the Egyptian Educational Mission in Canada. The meeting explored opportunities for academic collaboration between the two universities, particularly in computer science and related fields, including the potential development of joint academic programs, as well as research collaboration and the exchange of academic expertise. Both sides agreed to continue discussions and coordination to identify concrete areas of mutual interest and explore the next steps toward establishing academic cooperation between the two institutions.

التقى الأستاذ الدكتور/ أحمد جابر، المستشار الثقافي ومدير البعثة التعليمية بكندا، بالبروفيسور/ خالد حسانين، عميد كلية ديجروت لإدارة الأعمال بجامعة ماكمستر الكندية، لبحث فرص التعاون الأكاديمي بين الجامعة والجامعات المصرية. وتناول اللقاء عددًا من مجالات التعاون الممكنة في مجال إدارة الأعمال، والبرامج الأكاديمية، والبحث العلمي، وتبادل الخبرات، مع بحث سبل تطوير شراكات أكاديمية مستقبلية بين جامعة ماكمستر ومؤسسات التعليم العالي المصرية.

Prof. Ahmed Gaber, Cultural Attaché and Director of the Egyptian Educational Mission in Canada, met with Prof. Khaled Hassanein, Dean of the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, to discuss potential opportunities for academic collaboration between McMaster University and Egyptian universities. The meeting explored possible areas of cooperation in business education, academic programs, research, and the exchange of expertise. Both sides expressed interest in further discussions to identify promising opportunities and develop future partnerships between McMaster University and Egyptian higher education institutions.

التقى الأستاذ الدكتور/ أحمد جابر، المستشار الثقافي ومدير البعثة التعليمية بكندا، بالبروفيسور/ مها عثمان، الأستاذ بكلية الطب بجامعة كوينز الكندية، وذلك لبحث فرص التعاون الأكاديمي والعلمي الممكنة بين كلية الطب بجامعة كوينز والجامعات المصرية. وتناول اللقاء عددًا من مجالات التعاون المقترحة، بما يسهم في تعزيز الشراكات الأكاديمية وتبادل الخبرات بين الجانبين، على أن يتم مواصلة التنسيق خلال الفترة المقبلة لبحث آليات تفعيل فرص التعاون المطروحة.

Prof. Ahmed Gaber, Cultural Attaché and Director of the Egyptian Educational Mission in Canada, met with Prof. Maha Othman, Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Queen’s University, to explore potential opportunities for academic and scientific collaboration between Queen’s University and Egyptian universities. The meeting discussed potential areas of cooperation in medical education and research, as well as opportunities for knowledge and expertise exchange. Both sides expressed interest in continuing discussions to identify concrete areas for future collaboration.

جانب من مشاركة الأستاذ الدكتور/ أحمد جابر، المستشار الثقافي ومدير البعثة التعليمية بمونتريال – كندا، في فعاليات «الخيمة المصرية» ضمن مهرجان الأوريانتاليس السنوي (Festival Orientalys) بمونتريال، خلال الفترة من 13 إلى 16 أغسطس 2026. كما تقدم الأستاذ الدكتور/ أحمد جابر بخالص الشكر والتقدير للسيدة/ علياء الشافعي والسيد/ حسام مقبل، مؤسسي جمعية الخدمات العامة لإدماج المهاجرين (SPDI) والمنظمين للخيمة المصرية، على جهودهم المتميزة في إبراز الثقافة والتراث المصري بصورة مشرفة أمام المجتمع الكندي.

وقد شرّف الفعالية بالحضور سعادة السفير/ نبيل مكي، القنصل العام لجمهورية مصر العربية في مونتريال، والسيدة حرمه، والسيد القنصل/ محمد عاطف، إلى جانب رجل الأعمال السيد/ عادل بولس، رئيس اتحاد المصريين بالخارج – فرع كندا، ورجل الأعمال السيد/ بيتر مرقص، مجموعة بلازا، ونخبة من أبناء الجالية المصرية والجمهور الكندي.

وتضمنت الخيمة مجموعة من الأنشطة الثقافية والتراثية التي تعكس ثراء وتنوع الهوية والحضارة المصرية، وتسهم في التعريف بالموروث الثقافي المصري وتعزيز التواصل مع مختلف الثقافات والجاليات المشاركة بالمهرجان. وتأتي مشاركة المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بمونتريال – كندا في إطار جهوده المستمرة لدعم الحضور الثقافي المصري، والترويج للثقافة والحضارة المصرية، وتعزيز جسور التواصل والتبادل الثقافي بين مصر وكندا.

Highlights from the participation of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Gaber, Cultural Counselor and Head of the Egyptian Educational Mission in Montreal, Canada, in the activities of the “Egyptian Pavilion” at Festival Orientalys in Montreal, from August 13 to 16, 2026. Prof. Gaber expressed his sincere appreciation to Ms. Aliaa El Shafie and Mr. Hossam Mokbel, founders of SPDI and organizers of the Egyptian Pavilion, for their dedicated efforts in organizing this distinguished initiative and showcasing Egyptian culture and heritage to the Canadian community.

The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Ambassador Nabil Mekky, Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Montreal, and his spouse, Mr. Mohamed Atef, Consul of Egypt in Montreal, as well as Mr. Adel Boulos, President of the General Union of Egyptians Abroad – Canada Branch, and businessman Mr. Peter Marcos of Plaza Management Group (PMG), along with members of the Egyptian community and the Canadian public.

The Egyptian Pavilion featured a variety of cultural and heritage activities highlighting the richness and diversity of Egyptian identity and civilization, providing visitors with an opportunity to discover different aspects of Egypt’s unique cultural heritage.
The participation of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Montreal – Canada comes as part of its ongoing efforts to promote Egyptian culture and civilization, strengthen Egypt’s cultural presence in Canada, and foster cultural dialogue and exchange between the Egyptian and Canadian communities.
