Maynooth is located in the municipality of Hastings Highlands. “Maynooth is the seat politically, but the heart in reality”. One of the highest inhabited areas in Ontario, a short distance North of Bancroft on the way to Algonquin Park, Maynooth is noted for beautiful sunsets and as a great place to live. Recently, a visiting musician appearing at the Arlington Hotel, referred to Maynooth as "the
right kind of yahoos". Main Street Maynooth (Hwy. 62) offers: 2 gas stations, an LCBO, 1 restaurant, Canada Post Office, 24hr. banking services, a Library with Internet access, a hotel, art galleries, a General Store, antique and craft shops, a Public school, seniors' services and long-term care - just to name a few. There are annual ham and hunters' meals, fabulous pot lucks, family reunions, and entertainment from afar at the Arlington Hotel. The Greyhound Bus stops in Maynooth 3 times a week- for those who prefer not to drive. The current schedule is Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. This page is administered by volunteers from the Maynooth Business Association.
