A Flood Watch is in effect for the South Coast:

• Lower Fraser tributaries and the Fraser Valley

A Flood Watch means river levels ARE rising and may exceed riverbanks.

Donald Trump's loss is BC's gain. 🧑‍⚕️

We've hired over 400 US healthcare workers in the last year through our targeted recruitment campaign. That's 89 doctors, 260 nurses, 45 nurse practitioners and 23 allied health professionals.

There are 105 new healthcare staff in Fraser Health, 72 in Vancouver Coastal, 97 on the Island, 83 in the Interior, and 31 in the North.

In the face of the Trump administration's attacks on medical science, BC is a particularly attractive place for healthcare workers. That's because of our commitment to evidence-based medicine (like vaccines), and our opposition to two-tier, American-style healthcare.

The BC Conservatives were against this recruitment campaign - they said it was "a waste of taxpayers money" and called for us to scrap it. It's just one example of how short-sighted BC Conservative cuts would mean fewer doctors and nurses.

We said no to those Conservative cuts and thousands of British Columbians will have better healthcare access because of it.

BC now has more doctors per person than any other province. We're moving in the right direction, but there still aren't enough for everyone.

That's why we've added training spaces across BC for doctors, nurse practitioners, and nurses. We're building the new SFU Medical School in Surrey, which begins training the next generation of doctors in September.

We're having an impact, but we can't stop now. We're going to keep working hard to retain, recruit, and train more healthcare workers to ensure every British Columbian can access the best quality of healthcare when they need it.

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the more than six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust. And the millions of other people who were murdered by the N**i regime because of their sexual orientation, perceived disability, nationality and political beliefs.

As the number of survivors grows smaller each year, our responsibility to remember and our resolve to act grow stronger. One way we are doing this is by working with the Jewish community in BC to strengthen Holocaust education in our high schools, so every student understands the truth of this genocide and the devastating consequences of hate in Canada and around the world.

ℹ️ More workshops!

Ever feel like “systemic discrimination” is one of those terms everyone uses but no one explains clearly?

This workshop helps make it concrete and gives real tools for understanding and addressing it.

✨Why should you care?✨

Because these systems affect people you know (and probably you too) even if they’re easy to miss. This workshop turns a vague buzzword into something concrete, practical, and actionable.

Understanding it helps us advocate more effectively and show up for our communities.

🧡

Are you concerned about systemic discrimination in your community or organization but unsure how to address it?

Join our free 90-minute educational session on Monday, Jan. 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. PST to learn how to get started. You'll hear about systemic discrimination’s impacts and whom it affects most. By the end of the session, you will be able to identify at least one example of systemic discrimination, understand why action is needed and use an action-planning tool to support next steps.

This is why we need local representatives that will tackle these problems head on— enough is enough.

This is why we need local representatives that will tackle these problems head on— enough is enough.

A report released just last month shows families are expected to spend over $1,000 more on groceries this year.

This is the result of years of handouts and weak oversight by the Liberals. You struggle to pay for groceries, and grocery giants hike prices and pocket the profit.

The system needs to change now.
