Please find the steps herein that need to be followed to obtain your motor vehicle title:
1- A form will be sent to you electronically. Please fill it out and return it via standard mail to the address you will be provided.
2- In order to prevent abuse and fraud, please include a photocopy of your driver's license in the same envelope as your form, and a photo of the VIN plate.
3- Vehicle gets registered under our name
4- Motor vehicle registration documents and ownership transfer papers are sent to the address you provided, 1-2 weeks after reception of your documents.
5- Present yourself at your local Motor Vehicle Registration Office with the paperwork that you have been provided, effect the transfer, pay the fees required by your local jurisdiction....
6-...and Voilà, you now have local ownership papers of your vehicle!
P.S. In the case of a Quebec transfer for example, those are the additional steps that you're looking at for a road-going vehicle : You must get the vehicle safety-inspected by a SAAQ mandataire. You must then get the vehicle evaluated by an accredited evaluator for tax purposes. PST will be collected at the time of registration based on that value.
