A big thank you to April Dawn and all the Santas who participated in the very successful 2025 Santa Pub Crawl. The fundraiser provided every woman staying in our emergency shelter and living in our transitional and permanent affordable housing with a $55 gift certificate from the Cataraqui Town Centre.

A big thank you to Michelle and her team for "sockin' it" to Dawn House for yet another year. SOCKS Kingston donates to local shelters and organizations that support the homeless population in our community.❤️

Proud moment!! I just did a quick count and since I started Socks Kingston 🧦 in November 2016, this community has helped us to collect and distribute MORE than 162,000 pairs of new socks to so many amazing organizations that take care of our most vulnerable community members. Thank you is not enough! Forever grateful 😊💕

UPDATE: THANK YOU to everyone who heard our call and answered in record time. We received so many wonderful donations of PJ pants, many like brand new. We have enough to last for a good while.

We are in urgent need of gently used or new PJ pants in all sizes. Donations can be dropped of at 965 Milford Drive Monday through Friday between 9 am and 4 pm. If those times are not convenient, send a PM and we'll arrange a time that works for you. Thank you.

We have opened the new shelter location and have already had 2 cars stuck in the mud at what looks to be the entrance and parking space for our building off Anderson Ave. (across from Rona)

A big thank you to RONA for allowing staff and visitors to park in the RONA parking lot.

Hopefully, we have seen the last car stuck in the mud!

We hope you have a 'spooktacular' Hallowe'en. Our residents and staff enjoyed dressing up, decorating and partying. If you are trick or treating tonight, we hope you stay safe. Don't forget, the lights go out at 8 pm for the ball game! Go Jays, go!

It has been a busy summer and fall as we get ready to once again move our emergency shelter but we did not want another day to go by without thanking Carolyn and the ladies league at the Amherstview Golf Club for putting on this wonderful tournament in July in support of Dawn House that raised $6,450.

This was the second year that the Margaritas & Mulligans Tournament supported Dawn House. I want to thank all of you who came out to golf that day--it was a hot one--and especially Carolyn who is a blessing and has been a supporter of Dawn House for many years. Carolyn understands that on any given day we are one accident, one diagnosis, one financial crisis, one phone call away from a life event that could leave us shattered and homeless.

Sixteen gorgeous handmade quilts were donated to Dawn House by Jennifer Tryon and the crafty quilters involved in this special project. Jennifer owns the HomeMade Shop https://market.homemade.ca/ The HomeMade Shop specializes in teaching interested sewers how to quilt and sells all the supplies required to make beautiful handmade quilts. What an amazing gift!
