Weโ€™ve been nominated ๐Ÿ’œ

And this one feels meaningful.

Because this work was never just about coaching.

Itโ€™s about changing how we understand behaviour.
How we support regulation.
How we show up for people in ways that actually work.

To see that recognized tells me something important:
This conversation matters.

If youโ€™ve found value in anything Iโ€™ve shared, I would truly appreciate your support.

Hereโ€™s the problem:
Most workplaces say they support neurodivergent employeesโ€ฆ
but still expect people to perform in systems that donโ€™t support how they function.

That gap is where burnout, miscommunication, and turnover live.

In this session, weโ€™re getting into:
โ€ข whatโ€™s actually not working in workplace systems
โ€ข how leadership responses impact regulation (and performance)
โ€ข the small shifts that make inclusion real, not just stated

No theory-heavy conversation.
Just practical, applicable changes leaders can start making immediately.

Join us virtually on March 25.

If your child struggles with regulation, start with predictability.

When kids know whatโ€™s coming next, their nervous system can settle.

Predictability and consistency reduce the mental load of constantly trying to figure things out.

The brain isnโ€™t stuck in uncertainty, which means there is more capacity for cooperation, learning, and calm.

This is why simple supports matter so much:
โ€ข visual schedules
โ€ข consistent routines
โ€ข timers and transition warnings
โ€ข adults responding in predictable ways

Structure isnโ€™t about being rigid.
It helps children feel safe enough to regulate.

When your child ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ง๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ด, itโ€™s easy to assume theyโ€™re being defiant.

But many times, refusal is a nervous system response l, not a behaviour problem.

When a child is overwhelmed, more talking usually makes things worse. The brain is already overloaded.

Instead, try this:
โ€ข Keep language minimal
โ€ข Point to the visual or schedule
โ€ข Use simple 1st/Then language
โ€ข Add a timer to support the transition
โ€ข Allow processing time

These small shifts reduce pressure on the brain and make cooperation more possible.

Refusal often changes when we change the way we communicate.

Three tools every parent should be using daily:

First, ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—น ๐˜€๐˜‚๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐˜€:
First/then boards, visual schedules, and routine sequences help break down harder tasks.

These support smoother transitions and reduce resistance.

When kids are overwhelmed, less language helps the brain process whatโ€™s happening.

Structured supports reduce overwhelm and inclrease calm.

Neuro-inclusion doesnโ€™t require sweeping overhauls.

Often, it starts with simple adjustments: clearer communication, more flexible hiring practices, and thoughtful changes to physical space.

On March 18, Iโ€™ll be in conversation with IDEA Content about practical ways organizations can better support neurodivergent employees, improve retention, and create environments where different ways of thinking are genuinely valued.

If youโ€™re looking for actionable steps rather than abstract commitments, I hope youโ€™ll join us.

Sensory needs donโ€™t wait for a meltdown.
They build quietly through the day.

Sensory breaks arenโ€™t rewards.
Theyโ€™re regulation.

If we wait for dysregulation, weโ€™re late.

Schedule sensory breaks.
Prompt them before escalation.
Allow them when requested.

This isnโ€™t lowering expectations.
Itโ€™s supporting capacity so kids can meet them.

You know that moment.

They arenโ€™t listening.
Everything feels hard.
Youโ€™ve said the same thing over and over.
Youโ€™re right on the edge of losing it.

Thatโ€™s not a discipline problem.
Thatโ€™s a nervous system moment.

Before you say one more word, pause.

One or two breaths.
Slow it down.
Let your shoulders drop.

Not because you should be calmer.
Not because you need to โ€œdo better.โ€

But because when your nervous system realigns, your capacity shifts.

And capacity changes what you say next.

It changes your tone.
It changes the outcome.

Regulated adults donโ€™t have perfect kids.
They create safer moments.
Save this for the next spiral.

Come back to it when you feel the edge.
