Conveniently situated on the Calgary-Edmonton Corridor, Innisfail is a thriving mid-sized community in what some may say is the perfect location. It’s just 15 minutes south of Red Deer, and an hour north of Calgary, meaning whatever few amenities we don’t have are available just a shor

t drive in either direction. The question is: Where do we start? Well, we’ve got a robust employment sector that includes anything from major national corporations to small mom-and-pop operations. We’ve got schools that offer comfortable class sizes and safe learning environments. We’ve got unrivalled Rocky Mountain vistas. We’ve got subdivisions that are home to of the most luxurious new homes in the province. And we’ve got some of the most visited tourist destinations in all of Central Alberta. There’s plenty more to this town of about 8,000. And it’s all well worth exploring. So whether you’re considering relocating, are thinking about setting up business here, or simply want to know what all the fuss is about, give us a call today.

If you are paying through a financial institution, please be aware that these institutions may have processing times and that the Town may not receive payment immediately. Processing times may take 2-10 business days, so it is advised that you pay well in advance of the June 30 deadline date.

On May 26 and June 4, 2026, staff from Johns Manville in Innisfail and the Town of Innisfail hosted students from Innisfail Middle School and St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Catholic School for tree planting. Students were treated to lunch and learned a little about proper planting techniques. The various trees and shrubs were planted between the Off Leash Dog Park and the Innisfail Cemetery.

Thank you to the students for their efforts, and we look forward to the time when the area matures into another green space for residents to enjoy!

On June 3, 2026, the Town once again showed its appreciation for our seniors, hosting the annual Mayor's Garden Party at the Royal Canadian Legion #104 Innisfail, Alberta . The event, which is typically held at the Innisfail Historical Village, was moved inside due to the threat of rain.

Many of our community's seniors attended, and were served by members of Innisfail Town Council and Town/Innisfail FCSS staff. Entertainment was provided by the band "Silence In B'tween".

Volunteers from Innisfail High School and Servus Credit Union were also on hand to help with the serving of pie and ice cream.

Thank you to all our seniors who attended this annual event, and thanks to all who attended!

As one of the community’s most cherished and esteemed spaces, the Innisfail Cemetery offers a peaceful and idyllic setting in which citizens can solemnly pay respect to, and remember, their loved ones. The Town of Innisfail strives to maintain the cemetery grounds in the most sensitive, least intrusive manner possible. Town staff work diligently to ensure the premises remain exceptionally well-tended.

In order to ensure staff can maintain these standards, breakable vases, ornaments and decorations are not permitted in the cemetery, including within columbarium areas. Decorations that encroach on neighbouring columbarium niches are also not permitted and will be removed. Such items can make grounds-keeping exceptionally difficult and time-consuming. For this reason, the Town will be placing any such items in a common area at the cemetery entrance for retrieval starting on June 1, 2026. If you have placed any memorial items at a gravesite or columbarium, you will have the opportunity to claim the items in this designated space.

Should you wish to add a specific monument or structure - such as a planter, vase, statue, bench or lawn ornament - please contact the Town beforehand. That way, we can review and approve the item(s) so we know what should and shouldn’t be removed as we work to upkeep and maintain the facility, including columbarium areas.

As part of the Town's Seniors' Week celebrations, yesterday’s (June 1, 2026) Intergenerational Event - hosted by Innisfail High School ’s Grade 9 Leadership Class and Innisfail FCSS - brought youth and seniors together to share stories, perspectives, laughter, and life experiences.

While the weather kept us indoors, it didn’t stop meaningful conversations and new connections from being made. The event highlighted the importance of building understanding across generations and recognizing the valuable contributions, wisdom, and experiences that seniors bring to our community.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped celebrate the value of learning from one another across generations.
