This fall, we'll be sharing recommended updates to the land use bylaw for your feedback. If you have perspectives you'd like to share on these updates to residential development regulations, you can share them at an in-person session or on our online survey. Sessions are happening Sept. 30 and Oct. 6, and the online survey will be open Oct. 7 - 22.

September Long Weekend Closures
A reminder that Town of High River facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7, for Labour Day and will reopen during regular hours on Tuesday, September 8.

Garbage collection will continue as scheduled with no changes. The Recycling Centre will also be closed Monday and reopen Tuesday.

Emergency services remain available. In an emergency, call 9-1-1.

Safety Reminder
Recently, emergency crews responded to a dirt bike collision on 1 Street near 6 Avenue SW. A young man in his early 20s sustained serious injuries after appearing to lose control of the bike while travelling at a high rate of speed. Fortunately, the rider was wearing a DOT/SNELL-approved helmet. The collision remains under RCMP investigation, with excessive speed and impairment suspected as contributing factors.

High River Protective Services reminds all riders to follow the rules of the road, respect other road users, wear a properly fitted and approved helmet, never ride impaired, and keep off-highway vehicles off public highways. Slow down. Stay sober. Wear your helmet. Ride safe.
