Alex Hickey to the Harmsworth Public Library.

Alex is an arts educator, visual artist, and author who has worked extensively within the Newfoundland and Labrador education system. He is an avid historian, researcher, photographer, community activist, and supporter of heritage preservation and tourism development.

Alex has published in professional education journals and magazines and edited fiction collections. His books include Misfortune Bay: The Loss of the Albatross, Evening Star: The Final Voyage of the Schooner Hesperia, and his newest book, Whispered Secrets: From Fortune Bay to Emerald Bay.

Mr. Hickey is an arts educator, visual artist, and author.

He has been chronicling community life through photographs and words to bring life to some of the nearly forgotten stories of the south coast of Newfoundland.
