Yesterday Grand Bend lost a landmark, Betty and Arts, Grand Bend Decorating, Leisure Time Sports, Pineridge Construction, Dale’s Pro Hardware and Finally RONA.
Thankfully no one was injured and damage was contained to the property.
Seeing the scene first hand I was very impressed and proud of our Lambton Shores Firefighters. The amount of training and practice that these dedicated men and women have put in was evident in a very organized tactical response.
I am sure I speak for the entire community when I say “Thank You!” You gave up your time and risked your safety to ensure that the fire was contained. It could easily have spread to the Old Orchard Park Condo’s given the intensity of the fire and the strength of the wind.
Thanks also to the Lambton Shores staff that worked in the background to support those that were evacuated and making sure they had somewhere to go and were taken care of.
It really highlighted for me the incredible people that make Lambton Shores great!
Thanks also to the South Huron Fire Department for providing their ladder truck and personel. It's great to have good neighbours who will help in times of need.
I Love small town Ontario.

Here we go again! I can’t believe that it’s been four years since the last election! I filed my papers with the clerk on Monday to seek re-election as your Deputy Mayor!
The past four years as Deputy Mayor have been an incredible experience! I have learned so much and as a team our council has accomplished so much for the residents of Lambton Shores!
I look forward to the opportunity to serve my community for 4 more years!
