REMINDER! Happening SATURDAY!

Landfill Amnesty Day! Residents can dispose of eligible items FREE OF CHARGE

Bring your yard cleanup, brush, outdoor waste, and bulk items that have been sitting outside in your yard to the landfill and take advantage of this one-day opportunity to declutter and beautify your property.

Clean up, and clear out your yard, and show your community pride before Homecoming! Together, let’s make Howick look its best for 170 years of celebration.

Household waste and recycling are subject to regular tipping fees and are not included in the Amnesty Day. Amnesty items are up to the discretion of the Landfill Attendant.

For anybody unable to make it to the landfill on this day, please call the Township Office to pre- arrange a pickup and to confirm what you have to dispose of.

Calling all young artists! Our Homegrown in Howick colouring contest sheets have gone home with HCPS students, BUT the fun isn't just for them! Calling all 4-13 year olds! 📞

🖍️ Ages 4–7: Colour the Homecoming logo
🎨 Ages 8–13: Get creative! Add drawings, designs, and flair that show what Howick means to you.

🌿✨Building a More Beautiful & Vibrant Howick!

The Township of Howick is excited to introduce our new Community Improvement Plan (CIP) an important step toward enhancing and revitalizing our communities for residents, businesses, and visitors alike!

Community Improvement Plans (CIPs) are used by municipalities across Ontario to encourage revitalization, redevelopment, beautification, and private investment through targeted improvements and community enhancement initiatives.

Howick’s CIP is designed to help create more welcoming, attractive, and thriving communities throughout the Township and we are already getting started with Phase 1!

🌼 Phase 1 Highlights Include:
🌷 Raised flower beds around two community signs in each village — Fordwich, Wroxeter, and Gorrie
🌺 Beautiful flower baskets adorning bridges in all three villages, bringing vibrant colour to our communities
🪴 Multiple streetside planters throughout the villages to create welcoming and picturesque streetscapes

These projects are just the beginning! The Committee remains committed to fostering a more beautiful, vibrant, and thriving Township of Howick for everyone to enjoy.

Enhance Your Property with the Township of Howick Façade Program!

The Township of Howick is excited to offer the Municipal Façade Grant Program to help commercial property owners and businesses improve the appearance of their building façades and contribute to a more vibrant, welcoming community.

Eligible improvements may include:
✔️ Exterior painting and cleaning
✔️ Window and door upgrades
✔️ Brickwork, wood, masonry, and façade restoration
✔️ Signage, lighting, awnings, and accessibility improvements
✔️ Entranceway and streetscape enhancements

The program provides up to 50% of eligible project costs, to a maximum of $2,500.00 helping support improvements that strengthen community pride and beautify our villages.

📅 Application Deadline: October 1, 2026

Interested property owners and tenants are encouraged to apply today!
