🏫 The first week back is almost complete, but the reminder continues.

As students settle back into their school-year routines, Council and staff are asking drivers to continue watching their speed and keeping an eye out for children throughout the Village.

Road safety is something we all share. Whether you’re driving through a neighbourhood, heading to work or making the school run, please take your time and stay alert.

Together, we can Team Up to Slow Down.

Thank you for helping keep New Maryland a safe community for our children and families! -mk

This Sunday, the flags at the Village Office will be lowered to half-mast in recognition of Firefighters’ National Memorial Day.

On this day, we pause to honour and remember firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and to recognize the courage and dedication of those who continue to serve and protect communities across Canada.

The Village of New Maryland extends its gratitude to all firefighters for their service, sacrifice and commitment to keeping our communities safe. -mk

School is back. Let's Team Up to Slow Down!

With students heading back to school this week, Council and staff are reminding everyone to take a little extra care on our roads.

Please slow down, stay alert and watch for children walking, biking or waiting for the bus throughout the Village. Back-to-school routines mean more activity on our streets, particularly during the morning and afternoon hours.
A few extra seconds can make a big difference.
*** 30km/hour near New Maryland Elementary School, 40km/hour on Village streets, and 60 km/hour on the New Maryland Highway. ***

Let’s all Team Up to Slow Down and help keep New Maryland safe for everyone. Thank you! -mk
