The Torbay Volunteer Fire Department is starting a Junior Firefighting program this fall.

This program is open to 16-19 year olds who want to learn about the fire service or have an interest in the emergency services as a future career.

This program will have the Junior Firefighters train and work with our firefighters, to learn valuable skills, learn discipline, learn leadership skills, give back to your community and hopefully want to stay on the department as they age out of this program, and continue to provide a valuable service to the residents and visitors of Torbay and Flatrock.

There will be an information session next Tuesday nights at 7pm at the Torbay Firehall. This is intended for interested individuals and for their parents/guardians to attend, to ask questions, get information and fill out an application if you decide it’s what you want.

Your time, effort, and teamwork are truly appreciated. Thank you for helping make our community proud and ensuring everything was ready to welcome everyone!

We encourage residents to drop by Red Head Recreation Complex (Sunday August 16 to Thursday, August 21) to watch a game of softball, ball hockey, basketball, and soccer and cheer on our athletes!
Our opening ceremony is Sunday, August 16 at 7:00pm.
