Take advantage of the next two weekends to prune and trim your branches in advance of the branch chipping deadline!

Reminder: you must have all branches out by September 20, 2026 for pickup. Public Works will start chipping the day after the deadline and will continue until every street has been completed once. They cannot circle back for branches placed after September 20.

To help staff complete branch chipping quickly, efficiently and safely, please follow these guidelines:
• Place branches neatly at the curb, cut ends facing the road.
• Limit your pile size to a maximum of 8 ft long × 4 ft tall (crews can spend up to 10 minutes per property).
• Please ensure your pile is free from garbage, stumps, roots, black knot or debris.

Reminder: the fee to appeal a permit decision to the Development Appeal Board (DAB) is increasing from $50 to $150, effective Monday, September 14, 2026. The new $150 fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the appeal.

🚶‍➡️Forever… in motion returns to the White City Community Centre tomorrow!🚶‍♀️

This low-impact fitness program is designed to help improve strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility at your pace. Exercises are led by instructors Gaye Kreklewich & Marj Siman and can be adapted for various fitness levels. All equipment is provided.

Our next session begins September 10, 2026 and runs until December 17. Join us every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 11 am.

The Town of White City is seeking a Youth Program Leader to help lead our Free to Be program for ages 9-14.

🔑 Key Duties:
• Supervise activities at the White City Community Centre, ensuring the care, safety, and security of employees and participants.
• Plan, lead, instruct, and evaluate diverse and inclusive sports, culture and recreation activities for children and youth.
• Communicate with parents/caregivers of the participants as needed.
• Maintain an accurate logbook and make sure all Town policies and practices are adhered to.

✅ Working Conditions and Compensation:
We’re offering a salary of $17-$19/hour, based on experience. This position is for the 2026 program season, with the potential for continued employment during the 2027 program season, subject to program needs and approval of the Town’s 2027 operating budget. The hours of work are 6:00-9:00 pm on Wednesdays from October 14 – December 16, 2026.
