Our Charitable Society was created and authorized on September 20, 1994. This registered charitable organization is 100% run and organized by our firefighters who donate their time to assist our fundraising efforts. Our mandate is provide direct support to those in need within the community of Delta, specifically those suffering from medical or financial distre

ss, as well as collect and disburse funds to charities and organizations within Delta as well as a few select provincial and national charities whose cause is near and dear to our heart. Our firefighters can be found at many local events happening throughout Delta during the year, both raising money for our own initiatives as well as supporting other organizations with their fundraising endeavours.

The energy at the North Delta Recreation Centre was absolutely electric. Thanks to this incredible community coming together, we raised nearly $750,000 for the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society Healthy Snack Program—directly supporting over 3,000 local students. 🍎🔥

For the third annual Mayor’s Charity Ball, Burnsview Secondary Child and Youth Care Worker Curtis Miller once again donated one of his own First Nations carvings to help raise funds for the Delta Firefighters Healthy Snacks Program. He carved the piece alongside select Burnsview Secondary students who have been working on it for several months.

The piece was auctioned on Saturday, May 2 at the Mayor’s Ball, which took place at the North Delta Recreation Centre. The carving raised $5,000 for the Healthy Snacks Program. The program, initiated by firefighters in 2021, ensures that no student goes through their school day hungry by supplying snacks to over 20 schools across the Delta School District. 🎥 Reliving an incredible night of community, generosity, and impact.

The 3rd Annual Delta Firefighters Mayor’s Charity Ball brought together an amazing group of people, organizations, sponsors, and volunteers — all united behind one important mission: supporting local students through the Delta Firefighters Healthy Snack Program.

Held for the first time at the North Delta Recreation Centre, this year’s event marked an exciting new chapter for the Charity Ball. The energy in the room and the generosity shown throughout the evening was truly incredible.

Because of the support of this community, an outstanding $742,951.72 was raised to help provide nutritious food to more than 3,000 students across Delta schools. ❤️

It was an Honour to attend the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society Mayor’s Charity Ball in support of the Delta Firefighters IAFF Local 1763 Healthy Snack Program, a cause that feeds over 3,000 students across 39 schools every single day! It was a powerful reminder of what this community is capable of when it comes together.

As the cost of living continues to rise, many families are facing difficult choices, making programs like this more important than ever.

I was happy to raise my paddle high and make a $5000 donation. I'm so proud of Delta for showing up last night!

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we’re proud to share something special. 🔥🚒

This opening video from our Mayor’s Charity Ball—was brought to life by Janik Rai—captures what it truly means to be a Delta Firefighter.

From emergency response to medical calls, rescues, training, prevention, and everything in between… our members serve over 110,000 residents across Delta, on the job and off.

But the work doesn’t stop when the tones go quiet.

Through the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society, our members give their time, energy, and their own resources to support those who need it most—because protecting our community goes far beyond the firehall.

Another month of snack deliveries is officially in the books, reaching over 3,000 students across 40+ different schools. While these deliveries are a steady part of our monthly routine, the logistical effort remains a significant undertaking that ensures local kids have the nutritious fuel they need to focus and succeed in the classroom.

The momentum from this month’s operations is amplified by the incredible success of the Mayor’s Charity Ball. We are still reeling from the news that the event raised a total of $742,951.72, a figure that will go a long way in sustaining our community programs. We want to extend a sincere thank you to Delta for the continued support and partnership that makes these results—and our daily work—possible.

Adding to the busy schedule, we were also joined by some special visitors from Devon Gardens Elementary today. The students took part in a hall and truck tour, giving them a firsthand look at our equipment and a chance to see how we coordinate our monthly deliveries. It was a great opportunity to connect with the students and share a bit of what goes on behind the scenes here.

Serving Delta goes beyond emergency response. We believe our community is what we make of it.

This past Wednesday, Delta Fire Hall 4 was honoured to welcome the incredible Cops for Cancer team. 🚓🚒

For our crews, this visit was deeply personal. In the photos, you’ll see our members proudly wearing their “Fight Like a Girl” wristbands in support of Caitlyn—the daughter of one of our own—who is currently battling childhood cancer. Caitlyn is a fierce Team BC lacrosse player, and she is showing us all what true strength looks like. 🥍💪

This cause weaves our first responder community closely together. Caitlyn’s mom is a police officer, and the family shares a special bond with Carly, a close friend and dedicated Cops for Cancer rider. We also want to recognize Mission Firefighter Graeme, a leader with the Tour de Valley, who has his own profound personal connection to this ride.

Here at Delta Fire, we are family. Their family is our family, and we support each other through the good times and the most challenging ones. We are incredibly proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our fellow first responders, making a real difference both on and off the job.

Thank you to the Cops for Cancer team for your relentless dedication, and for taking the time to stop by to meet Caitlyn and her family. We are honoured to support this cause, and we are standing strong with Caitlyn in her battle! 💛🎗️
