The fire department responded to a structure fire on the east side of Swan Lake Tuesday evening. Pouce Coupe Fire Department was requested through mutual aid for additional water.
Fire was contained to a detached garage and the scene was cleared at 9:42 pm.

We had a good time hosting our annual open house and BBQ. We had friends from Engineering attend providing attendees with a survey on Emergency Preparedness and handing out swag. Special thanks to our BBQ pit-master Georg Waller for grilling the burgers and hotdogs.
And a big thanks to the community for their continued support for the Fire Dept.

Our firehall got a bit of a facelift on the weekend. A new white back ground for the updated lettering. Our crack team of installers did a great job.

We received word today that there is a registered burn of brush piles to the west of Tomslake. That is the reason for the smoke that is visible now. The landowner notified the fire dept that they had the valid permit and heavy equipment on site.
We have received some phone calls from concerned citizens and rightly so with what is happening in the rest of the province. Thanks for staying vigilant.

Sorry that this is a little late, but this is just a "Thank you" to three local businesses for donating time and product to get a 400 bbl water storage tank delivered, set up and filled with clean water for our use for the summer season.
Swamp Donkey Oilfield Services, SI's Oilfield Hauling Ltd. Curtis York Trucking.
They took time out of their busy schedule to help out our Fire Dept.

Here just a recap of happenings around our firehall. Last Saturday we hosted a group of Junior Rangers for the afternoon. They were treated to a tour of the firehall, did some fire extinguisher practice and some fun events to finish their visit. Thank you to Bobbie and David for looking after the group and to the Swan Lake Enhancement Society for allowing the Rangers to have a Burger and Hot dog lunch.

We were invited by Mammoth Forestry Ltd. to their Firesmart information BBQ at Swan Lake Provincial Park yesterday evening. Thanks to Craig and his crew for making people aware of Fire smarting their homes and the services they provide home owners to mitigate the chances of loss due to fires.
Also today (Saturday) from 10 until 2 the Swan Lake Enhancement Society will be hosting a BBQ and tree giveaway at the Tomslake CCA hall.
One of our trucks will be on display as well.
