You’re working harder than ever — so why does it feel like you’re falling behind?

Right now, half of Nova Scotia lives below a true living wage. Gig workers face unsafe conditions with little protection. It doesn’t have to stay this way.

By raising wages, expanding childcare, and lowering tuition, we can bring 40,000 more people into the workforce and make work actually work for you.

Halifax rents are up 82% since 2019. Vacancy is at a historic low. Wages haven’t come close to keeping up.

This is what Tim Houston’s housing policy has delivered: higher rents, fewer options, and more pressure on renters across Nova Scotia.

Housing doesn’t trickle down. In a broken rental market, landlords are rewarded for raising rents while government refuses to step in with the protections people need.

That’s not a market working. That’s policy failure.

Nova Scotia renters deserve a government that is on their side.

We don't build a strong economy from the top down. We build it through people.

While Conservatives keep betting on oil and gas oligarchs and big tech bros—hoping wealth will somehow trickle down—the NDP is fighting for an economy that grows from the ground up.

Because when families can access affordable child care, real things happen:

Parents, especially moms, can return to work

Employers fill the staffing gaps holding them back

Household incomes grow

Kids get a stronger start in life

Yet governments always seem to find endless money for oil, gas, and big tech.

Meanwhile, in Upper Burlington, Nova Scotia, a community with the land, a solid plan, and clear demand still can't get a single new daycare built. The funding just isn't there.

That's the wrong choice.

Invest in child care. Invest in families. Invest in the future.

The Province keeps telling public institutions to “do more with less.”

We hear constant excuses about community services being under pressure and leaders having to make tough choices about what gets funded.

But these tax cuts tell a very different story.

The top 10% are receiving about $114 million — nearly a quarter of the total revenue loss from the main tax measures.

So while libraries, schools, and community organizations are being told to tighten their belts, the biggest benefits are flowing to those who already have the most.

Who is really being asked to make the hard choices?

Six ministers of Social Development in under five years!

While child poverty rises, homelessness grows, and the disability sector faces major changes, this lack of political attention to social care a is yet another failure of governance by the PC’s.
