Friends of Alberta Birds of Prey Wetlands Who are we? A group of neighbours, bird watchers, wildlife photographers and trail walkers that love the Alberta Birds of Prey Wetlands and Centre.

This 200+ acre site is an amazing and potentially world class tourist attraction, environmental learning facility, wildlife rescue centre with a treasure of a wetland. Sadly its’ future is in peril. We are very concerned about the threat to the wetland complex (and tourist attraction) posed by a controversial site choice for a new $50 million high school, funded by Alberta Education, and Town of C

oaldale recreation centre. Most people oppose the site choice for this new school, selected without public consultation, against engineering recommendations not to develop in northwest Coaldale and unbelievably without any impact assessment on the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre or the wetlands themselves! There are many other sites available in Coaldale for a school that are safer to children, offer better public accessibility, and favored by Coaldale residents. We need your help! Please comment, share, ask questions. Also send in your complaints and concerns to to Alberta Education Minister Adirana LaGrange, Environment
Minister Jason Nixon and Municipal Affairs Minister Ric McIver.
