Open Mic Night at Black Harbour Distillers Inc., 5:30pm - 8pm.

Live Music at Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre Three Sheets Bar with Buddy Shields, 8pm-10pm.

Friday Night live at New Ross Royal Canadian Legion - Branch # 79 with Great Big Johnson, 8:30pm-11:30pm.

Wasoqopa'q First Nation Gold River Powwow September 11-13 (83 Pennell Rd Gold River).

Hubbards Barn Association Farmers Market with an amazing list of local vendors, 8am-12pm.

‘From the Wood Stove’ weekend at Ross Farm Museum. Traditional recipes will be baked in and on the woodstove all weekend. Come smell the aroma and enjoy some samples! Museum hours are 9:30am-4:30pm.

Community Wheels, Chester, Nova Scotia Community BBQ & Fundraiser at Aspotogan Heritage Trust (10 Pte Richard Green Ln, Hubbards), 11am-2pm.

Wasoqopa'q First Nation Gold River Powwow September 11-13 (83 Pennell Rd Gold River). Grand entry Saturday and Sunday is at 1pm.

Saturday Matinee at Black Harbour Distillers with Jackson Weldon, 1pm-4pm.

The Province is supporting two local businesses in Hubbards with $5,000 each for Digital Tourism Consulting Services.

Black Harbour Distillers and The Tuna Blue Inn, Restaurant and Marina will each receive this support to help strengthen their operations, marketing and visitor experiences.

I am happy to see these two local businesses receiving support that helps them continue to grow and build on what they already do so well. They help make Hubbards a great place to visit and an even better place to call home. Congratulations to both!

Our region’s emergency response organizations can apply for funding to strengthen preparedness and response efforts.

The Emergency Services Provider Fund’s regional funding stream supports fire departments, ground search and rescue, and HAZMAT organizations working together with municipalities to enhance emergency services across a wider geographic area.

Applications open September 1 and close October 31, 2026.
