Green Party of Prince Edward Island The Green Party of PEI - making a difference for Islanders. The Green Party of PEI understands the need for politics on PEI to be done differently.

That means putting people ahead of corporate interests, acknowledging that no party has a monopoly on good ideas and a willingness to work across party lines to find the best solutions for all Islanders.

During the spring sitting Green MLA Karla Bernard spoke about the important role Educational Assistants (EAs) play in our Island schools, highlighting some of the current challenges they are facing as they support students. Karla asked the Minister of Education to take steps to increase safety in schools, ensure EAs have access to enhanced training, and introduce a salaried pay grid for EAs.

Green Leader Matt MacFarlane will be bringing his sick notes bill back to the floor of the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island on Wednesday May 20th. Dr. Kay Dingwell, an emergency room physician, will once again join Matt in support of this bill that will remove an administrative burden for healthcare workers and free up more space in doctors' offices and hospitals for Islanders who need medical treatment. Today the PC government voted down a Green bill that would help make electricity rates affordable for Islanders and hold Maritime Electric accountable for its rate increases and performance.

Islanders are tired of this PC government making empty promises and then doing nothing to make life better. Islanders deserve better. Islanders deserve a government that has the courage and vision to be an energy leader.
