Our featured artist this week is Vick of One Blue Shoe!

Born in the UK, Vick moved to Canmore almost 10 years ago. After working as a Graphic Designer in the UK, she left home to experience a ski season, and ended up working for years as a ski instructor at Sunshine Village. Vick lives in Canmore with her husband, son, and their 2 dogs. When she isn't working, Vick enjoys spending time outside skiing, paddle boarding, and running.

In 2010, she began her quest to bring a little creativity back to her life, starting to paint in acrylics. Then, in 2013, she started creating hand made pieces to decorate her own wedding. This included making signs which depicted quotes and such and other printed decorations.

After her wedding, she began looking into the best way to make her signs, the ball started rolling and One Blue Shoe was born! After perfecting her sign-making technique, she now uses old wood pallets and recycles them into beautiful hand made signs. Every piece is made in Canmore, with locally sourced wood. Each sign is hand painted and printed with different phrases, sayings, and words. As they are handmade, each piece is unique. Custom made signs are also available, upon request.

Adrianna Stratton is a Bow Valley local who has a passion for paints. She creates whimsical watercolour and acrylic pieces - from canvas paintings to quirky cards and magnets. Art has always been a favourite pastime, but this summer she's taken the opportunity to share her art - for the first time - with Art in the Park Canmore! Come out and say hello at the market on Sunday... She'd "beary" much like that!
