NEXT EVENT IS COMING UP!

On Saturday, November 14th, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, we are going to have yet another fun gathering where we learn, laugh, connect, and grow together.

Session 1: DIABETES AWARENESS
Learn about diabetes prevention and management from Cu***ng School of Medicine students and an endocrinologist from the University of Calgary.

Session 2: WASTE MANAGEMENT & SUSTAINABILITY
Learn how to reduce landfill waste and make sustainability education accessible across diverse communities.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined SilverKnots Seniors Community for our Pre-Diwali Dhamaka! 💛

It was wonderful to come together, share laughter, enjoy delicious Diwali treats, and celebrate the Festival of Lights through creativity, connection, and cherished memories. From building clay forts to making beautiful kandils, your smiles and enthusiasm made this gathering truly special! 🏮🎨

Thank you for bringing your warmth, joy, and festive spirit to our community and for attending our Pre-Diwali event. It was awesome to make Kandils and Clay Forts together while chatting, laughing, and enjoying our time together.😁

🗣️ Building Confidence, Communication & Independence!
💚 Every senior deserves to be heard, understood, and empowered!
For seniors whose first language is not English, communicating confidently in everyday situations can sometimes be challenging. Yet, being able to express their needs in English is an important step towards greater independence, confidence, and self-advocacy. It is never too late to learn, practise, and grow! 💚
Toastmasters for Seniors, led by Anuja Deshmukh Kulkarni, gave our seniors an opportunity to practise speaking English in practical, real-life situations.
🎭 Learning Through Role Play! Our seniors participated in role-playing activities focused on everyday situations, such as visiting a doctor or pharmacist and confidently explaining their needs in English.
Although some participants were initially hesitant, they gradually opened up, participated enthusiastically, and did a wonderful job! 👏 Their efforts reminded us that a supportive environment can make all the difference in building confidence and encouraging lifelong learning.
