Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

With the construction of the New Replacement BJHS almost complete we are entering the final 6 weeks of schooling in our current school building. As we finish up our current school year, BJHS Staff have been downsizing their classrooms and preparing to pack for this historic move at the end of June.

As you could imagine, this is a huge and time consuming job. As a result, Grasslands Board of Trustees have adjusted the year end BJHS Calendar for our students only. This means the last day of school for students at BJHS has been rescheduled to June 23rd at 3:30 PM. Students will write their last final exam (Science) on June 23rd in the AM and in the PM prepare for the end of the year and collect their report cards at the end of the day. This will give our staff the opportunity and undisturbed time to pack up all our teaching resources and materials to be moved into the new school.

I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding. I am pretty sure our students will be thrilled with a little longer summer break and I realize this might cause some difficulties for some families. As always, should you have any questions or concerns regarding this change or any other educational items related to your child's please feel free to contact me.

Here is this week at BJHS

Most important - Our first final exam will be on Thursday May 21st. ELA Part A will be written in the morning. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 for a bit of an earlier lunch to maintain a quiet examination space for any students using extra time to write.

Exam tips:
💻Charge your chromebook (you don't want to lose power in the middle of your story)
😴Get a good night's sleep - a well rested brain performs best
🥞🍳Have a healthy breakfast to fuel your ideas!

We are so excited for our 3rd annual Cultural Evening at BJHS!

Please join us on Wednesday, May 13th for an evening of dance, singing, and food from around the world.

Students are invited to dress in clothing that represents their culture for the school day, and also wear it for the evening portion!

🕰️Doors will open at 5:00
🎫Each person will get 5 food tickets to sample food items
