NEWS RELEASE: Six Nations Police to Conduct Back-to-School Traffic Blitz

The Six Nations Police Service (SNPS) will be conducting a back-to-school traffic safety blitz beginning the week of September 8, 2026, as students across the community return to the classroom.

Throughout the week, officers will conduct increased patrols in high-traffic areas and school zones to promote safe driving and help ensure students, families and school staff can travel safely.

Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed in school zones, obey all posted traffic signs, stop for school buses when required, and remain alert for children and other pedestrians crossing or walking near roadways. Drivers should also allow additional travel time and expect increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up periods.

Parents, guardians and students are encouraged to use extra caution when walking to and from school, including looking both ways before crossing roadways and using designated crossings whenever possible.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. SNPS is asking all motorists to slow down, stay alert and help keep our community’s students safe as they begin a new school year.

The Six Nations Police Service wishes all students, families, educators and school staff a safe and successful 2026–27 school year.

Niá:wen / thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday for the Six Nations Police Memorial Golf Tournament! ⛳ We were fortunate to have a beautiful day out on the course, filled with great golf and good company.

Proceeds from the tournament help support our PALS program, scholarships, as well as other Six Nations community organizations and initiatives throughout the year. We’re grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored, donated, or otherwise helped make this year’s tournament a success.

A special thank you to our Golf Committee for the time and hard work that went into organizing another great tournament.

Six Nations Police arrested and charged two separate individuals last weekend for impaired driving and other criminal code charges.

These enforcement efforts are an important part of our commitment to keeping everyone on our roads safe. Impaired driving continues to put drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and other road users at serious risk.

If you plan to consume alcohol or drugs, make a safe plan before you head out—use a designated driver, taxi/rideshare, or public transit.

Plan ahead. Drive sober. Get home safely.

On Friday, August 21, 2026, 65-year-old, Morteza ZARINGHALAMI, was arrested and charged with the following offences;

- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

On Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, a 24-year-old female was arrested and charged with the following offences;
