The Columns, Engaged Columns and Pilasters are finally all profiled. I made the last trim pieces and then went to work finishing the Capitals and bases. They look great, very happy with how the columns now look. Just need to fill and seal them for when the railings are made and installed, bottom of the beams capped, then the stairs fixed, the porch edge finshed so I can paint it all white except the deck and stairs they will be stained.

Today was spent doing some Old World Craftsmanship again, as I tackled the Capitals at the tops of the Columns and Engaged Pilasters connecting to the beam. Spent the day before making a tonne of sawdust and all the profile pieces, to keep with the rest. Each full column when completed will have 68 pieces of mitred, profiled wood that was made onsite to the homeowners design. Designs for the Railings are in the final stages so those and fixing the stairs will be next so I can get all the paint and staining done. Have a great weekend, Cheers.

It was a beautiful yet hot day but I got all the upper capping done. Made a bunch of sawdust mitring the 5 1/2 " wide boards ( which is the width I needed to make the box around the 4x4), I had no room to loose any material so precise mitres on the edges was very important. It became interesting on two of the columns as the 4x4 posts had twisted and warped on them, but I managed to get them set inline with the others after alot of grumbling and profanity. End result speaks for itself, very happy and next I will start the capitals on top that will connect it all to to the beams. They will be styled to match the window headers, and lower columns. The bottom of the beams will get bullnosed to cover the seam, and there is still one profile trim to do on the lower columns. Railings are being designed and will start fabricating them in the next week or so, pretty sure there is like 120 or more custom pieces to make for that but its going to look amazing.
