We have had a number of queries already regarding the extra traffic off the south bound lane on first street. Please stay clear and allow city workers to safely complete their work.

That’s the Brandon Goose Altar. It’s where we take the bodies of the sacrifices for the year to appease the Geese and ensure another year of Safety. This years sacrifice was large so the deep tire tracks are from the heavy machinery used to transport it to the Grand Goose. Nothing suspicious at all.

Please keep your eyes open.

In an effort to encourage more green transportation; we are planning to propose a bylaw this fall to allow bikes to travel at 15% above the speed limit when helmet is in use.

This includes motorcycles and other two wheel vehicles; because.

The City of Winnipeg Complaints Department you are welcome to travel outside the perimeter to check it out for the trial period the 3rd week in September to see if it blows your hair back.

Did you know that the speed limit in our city's designated bike lanes is 5km/hr? We know it's easy for your speed to get away from you while travelling on a bicycle. Today, officers used LIDAR to educate people on their speed while travelling downtown and in residential areas. Cyclists caught speeding were handed out tickets at a 50% discounted rate instead of the full $575 fine. Cyclists caught going over 15km/hr will have their bikes impounded for 30 days.

Please slow down, ride safely and remember that you share these routes with pedestrians, children, pets and more!

We have heard from the commonality of Brandon. The traffic from Canada Day adding an additional 7 minutes to your typical commute of 5 minutes to get anywhere in town is frustrating.

We encourage people to use the public transportation where we are running at reduced schedule and you’re SOL for getting home post festivities as we close at 7pm.

We have also taken the initiative to decrease traffic by enforcing a parking fee of $18.67 at the Riverbank.

Honestly; we just don’t feel like going out in the rain … also since the many complaints received of the alternation of the recycling and compost schedule we are now considering moving all back lane collection to front street and weekly schedule to monthly.

A reminder that green bin is done for the season. To improve efficiency with winter collection we have implemented a new driving strategy for snow removal. This will also assist property owners with the task of returning bins to private property post refuse collection. Please see demo video.
