There's lots to be Thankful for after last nights election.
But to name I'm few:

I'm thankful I had the confidence and courage to put my name forward in the political race. It sure taught me a lot, which I am also thankful for.

I'm thankful for all the other Candidates who share the same passion as me in making Bonnyville Better.

I'm thankful for my personal support system of friends, family, and especially my husband who held my hand and my head high during these last 6 months.

And I'm thankful for YOU and your support and belief in me to help shape the future of the town that I love.

Congratulations to all 6 incumbents who kept their seat. I've always said that Council had a great term, and it's no wonder the community felt confident in re-electing them to continue to make Bonnyville Better.

Well Bonnyville, this is it.

I have done everything I could over these last 6 months to try to earn your vote, and today, the rest is up to you.

It's election day-- and you have some big decisions to make as you cast your vote for who you want to lead your community.

𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 I was the 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 candidate to submit my intention to run on April 4th?
I wanted to be the first one to put my name forward to show you the determination and dedication I have in representing you around that Council Table.

𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 that since Seniors Week back in June, I have put Seniors Support to the forefront of my priorities by attending events for seniors such as Luncheons, I have visited the Lodge multiple times, and I have stayed in regular contact with our Senior Supports organizations such as Apidae Compassion Care to build the relationship at an early stage so that we can quickly get to work once I'm sworn in as an Elected Official?

𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 I have attended dozens of community events in these last 6 months either as a Volunteer or as an attendee, to prove my commitment in supporting my community? Such events attended/volunteered at include attending and volunteering at the Bonnyville Health Foundation Gala, volunteering for Smile Cookie Week, being a judge for Lemonade Day, volunteering at countless events for the Bonnyville & District SPCA and supporting Lakeland Co-Op for Good Fuel Day.

𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 I have spent these last 6 months supporting our Business Community by attending Grand Opening Ceremonies (Strathcona Performing Arts Centre, Trendy Creations), Anniversaries (Herb & Stone), Customer Appreciations (Lakeland Co-Op) and continuing to advocate and promote shopping Local for the business Community through my Executive Position with the Bonnyville Chamber of Commerce?

And 𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 prior to 6 months ago when I put my name forward, I was already doing all of those things?

I am a person who believes that supporting my community means staying active in my community. I've been supporting my community for the past 15 years and I remain committed to supporting my community for another 15 and more years.

Today is up to you on the kind of person you want to see supporting and building your community.
Let's write the next Chapter for Bonnyville's future, together.

With today being your last opportunity to get your vote in early with Advanced Polls from 10am-4pm before Election Day on Monday, I wanted to take one last opportunity myself to tell you why a Vote for 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗵 is the right decision.

Less than a week ago I had a medical emergency. The recovery period with what I went through is 1-2 weeks bed rest.

It hasn't been an easy week. Especially when my main priority has been to get out and be face to face with all of you.

This week for me has looked like being in bed for minimum 12 hours a day, moderate to severe abdominal pain as soon as I get up and move and crippling weakness where my knees literally give out and collapse me to the ground, regardless of where I am at the time.

And even through all that, this week I've prioritized visiting the Residents at the BonnyLodge, I've been to the grocery stores to hand out my campaign materials, and I've sat down with residents right in their home to discuss what the future of Bonnyville looks like with me as a Councillor.

I feel like I've put a whole new meaning to "sleep when you're dead".

Yes, taking care of my health is important to me.

But you are important to me too.

As your next CouncilWomen for Bonnyville, my commitment is to prioritize YOU on top of all things.

In sickness, and in health. For richer or for poorer.

I will spend my term putting a new meaning to "I'll sleep when I'm dead". I won't stop working for you until my time on Council has come to an end.

So, when you go to the polls either today or on Monday -- be sure to head in all "𝐵𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑒𝑦𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐵𝑈𝑆𝐻𝑌 𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑙𝑒𝑑" feeling confident in your vote, knowing that that's what I'm prepared to do for you.

And I won't stop there.

Advanced Polling is open TODAY!!

You can head down to the Town Administration Office today from 1pm-8pm to make your pick for Bonnyville's future leaders.

As a reminder before you head to the advanced polls; a vote for Caitlyn Bush is a vote for:
✅𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: Not only supporting the current business leaders already operating businesses, but focusing on improving overall quality of life for residents so people feel confident in moving here to work and staying here to work.
✅𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Beautifying Bonnyville means cleaning up our streets F̲I̲R̲S̲T̲ before cleaning up our parks. Not spending upwards of $3,000,000 on park upgrades when we could be reserving those funds while we create 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 solutions for Crime, Drugs, and Homelessness.
✅𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹: A lack of animal control or blatant violations of Animal Bylaws in town is worrisome for those of us who love our pets. Respecting the Animal Control Bylaws goes beyond walking your dogs on leash. I am dedicated in ongoing education to the public on the importance of respecting the Bylaws and amending the Animal Control Bylaws when there's a need to do so.

The future is bright for Bonnyville, and it's bright because you're about to elect those candidates you feel confident in creating an overall better Bonnyville.

Hope you all had a better Thanksgiving than I had (cue nervous laughter here).

When I began my Council campaign six months ago, I knew I wanted to address the state of our healthcare system. However, I wasn't confident in my ability to genuinely speak to the issue, having been fortunate enough to rarely utilize our healthcare services aside from occasional broken bones and dog bites.

But that all changed yesterday.

After an unexpected emergency hospital visit at 2 in the morning, a 15-hour hospital stay with multiple staff change overs, and a looming potential surgery on my mind, I gained a newfound appreciation for medical professionals. The nurses and doctors provided exceptional care, and their steady, confident attitude helped alleviate my anxiety. I'm grateful for the team at Bonnyville and Cold Lake Hospitals and I'm grateful to be recovering from home now.

However, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by rural communities, including long wait times, limited services, and overcrowded ER rooms. These issues are often beyond the control of local health units, but that doesn't mean we can't advocate for change.

As your next CouncilWoman, I'm committed to working with our community and provincial government for stronger, more stable healthcare services.

To that end, I'd love to hear your thoughts:

- What potential solutions do you see for addressing the healthcare crisis in rural Alberta?
- How can our local Municipal Council effectively lobby the provincial government for better healthcare services?

Let's make Bonnyville Better, Together and find solutions for improved healthcare in our Town by voting for Caitlyn Bush on or before October 20th.

I have SO MUCH to be Thankful for this year.

I am thankful for the opportunity to put my name forward for Council.

I am thankful I have the experience behind me to be confident in leading a town such as Bonnyville.

I am thankful I have the support of my friends, and family, especially my husband.

I am thankful for all my customers at BUSH-els of Fun- Pet Care Services who entrust me to care and love the furry members of their family.

I am thankful for this town I live in and love.

I am thankful for you who support me as we all head to the polls in one weeks time on October 20th.

I am thankful that the Thanksgiving holiday allows us all to take a moment of pause to reflect and breath and think about all the amazing things we have in this lifetime.

Today, let's put the politics and campaigning aside and enjoy this holiday with those who mean the most to us.

We need more businesses like Apidae Compassion Care in Bonnyville who do what they do for the RIGHT reasons: because they care about their community and their community members.

I believe that the Town of Bonnyville needs to collaborate with Apidea to improve overall quality of life for our Senior Citizens. I believe this collaboration would prove to be the secret ingredient in creating more Long Term Living Facilities for Seniors, stronger Home Care Services and a robust menu of programming and Quality of Life Improvements for our Seniors.

As your next CouncilWoman, I will be committed to working closely with Kathryn and the team at Apidae to create a long-term relationship where our valued seniors are the main beneficiaries.

Thank you Apidae for giving our Seniors a Thanksgiving to be thankful for 🙏🍂

Bonnyville has made it abundantly clear:

That we want 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 as residents.

We want more recreation.

We want more shopping.

We want more dine-in restaurants.

We want more programming.

We want that new pool we've been asking for for decades.

We understand that we can't get everything we want all at once, but prioritizing is important.

And your voice on these matters is important.

A new council after October 20th needs to be prepared to work together to give the residents what they want in a fiscally responsible way.

And as your next CouncilWoman, a better quality of life for you means a better quality of life for me and my family too. I want 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 as well.

My belief on 𝑬𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 is that a strong Bonnyville starts with creating a well rounded quality of life for all residents.

Recreation plays a key role in enticing people to move here and to stay here, resulting in both new businesses popping up and long term blue collar workers.

Crime control allows people to feel safe and comfortable in their decision to live here and work here.

Property Tax Management helps residents feels confident that there is a team of Councilors who have their best interest at heart.

Strong Tourism shows the entire province that we are a place where people want to be.

Mental Health supports makes a rural community stand out in paving the way of prioritizing all aspects of health.

Strong Seniors care including more housing and safe transportation shows a community that we are proud of the pillar individuals who grew our Bonnyville to what it is today.

And additional Business Incentives through Grants and policies shows Bonnyville that Council Cares about local businesses that make a strong Bonnyville.

Economic Growth isn't easy. There are a million pieces of the puzzle to put together in creating a fully well rounded Bonnyville.

Create a Strong Bonnyville for residents, and the Economic Growth will come.

It's not an easy task, but Economic Development is something I have supported and actively participated in through my 15 year Term with the Bonnyville Chamber of Commerce, well before I had intentions of being on Council.

It was a priority for me back then, it's a priority for me now, and it will continue to be a priority for me well into the future.

Advanced Polling begins TODAY!!!

If you aren't able to head to the polls on Election Day, October 20th, The Town of Bonnyville is making it possible for you to still exercise your democratic right and place your vote for your next Councillors of Bonnyville!

Polls are open today, October 9, Saturday October 11, Wednesday October 15 and Saturday October 18th at Town Hall.

And of course, October 20th is your last chance to vote as Municipal Election Day, 10am-8pm at the Bonnyville Seniors Centre.

The Town is also offering Elector Assistance At Home for anyone who may not physically be able to get to the polls.

Your vote matters, your voice matters.
