So this week I didn’t make it out to the lil apiary but I did complete my “Healthy Bees Workshop” 🐝
This program was put on by the Ontario Beekeepers’ Association, Technology Transfer Program. It was so good.
There was talks about pest and disease biology and identification, monitoring for pests and diseases, record keeping, treatments and integrated pest management strategies.
If you have bees or want bees take some courses, this is the best resource you can tap into!

If anyone is wondering…yes being a pink teddy bear is incredibly hot 🥵 there is nothing like wearing pink, plastic/polyester blend full bodysuit! But I wouldn’t be doing this any other way lol 😭kbees

As some people know M&K is just a hobby apiary started by my husband about 5/6 years ago. Slowly over the years I have become more and more involved. For years we have struggled with issues with winterizing. This year we have decided to take charge and figure out - “what are we doing wrong?” I was blessed that I have a local bee shop and they run courses on everything bee. I was able to complete 2 courses this Saturday, and I cannot express enough how valuable this is! If you’re looking into bees, have bees, or just wondering is there more or something better/different I should be doing? Sign up for a course and ask all the questions. Rain or shine, the babe beebees need to be put to home!
Broke out my pink teddy bear and went to work getting 2 NUCs in to their new homes. 4 umbrellas (2 golf size) and about an hour of work 2 NUCs have been put to place. Now the hard part….leaving them alone so they have time to adjust, and learn their new homes. kbees
