The waters are flowing over the highway again near the Sagamayak turn-off located about 5km southwest of Beauval on Hwy 165.

We will be deploying barricades and flaggers to slow traffic as they guide trucks over this zone.

Currently the highways is ‘not’ closed but we are asking motorists to slow down and wait for the flaggers to guide you through this overflow area. The less damage speeding vehicles do to this area the better until the water can finish draining and regular water flow can be restored.

Keep an eye on updates at the SK Highways Hotline.

Thank you for your patience.

Traffic on Hwy 165 near the Sagamayak Subdivision turn-off southwest of Beauval is currently reduced to one lane traffic with flag people on scene to help guide traffic through due to another incident occurring where the road is near wash-out conditions.

Please reduce speed and wait to be flagged through. This roadway is being assessed and may close with limited notice if the integrity of the road is considered compromised.

Check the SK Highways Hotline for updates.

May 2 2026 2:00pm update

Culvert is now being installed and will require some roadwork shortly after to repair the highway.

Slight delay but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Estimate repair completion: 5-6pm (best guess)

Thank you for your patience.

Unfortunately, I have no information on when the General Store will reopen or any other stores located at the Beauval junction. Please follow their pages for those updates.

Appreciates. Thank you to Dept of Highways for their quick action in seeing this repaired.

We are in contact with SPSA to bring in pumps and other equipment to help divert the water for those who have reported the water from the slews in town seeping into their yards. Village maintenance will be setting that equipment up to help with those situations. Please respect the equipment and take care if you need to drive over the hoses or near the pump. Slow down and drive with care and attention.

** Road Closure Notice ** Hwy 165

Please be advised that the road southwest of Beauval (hwy 165) between Beauval and the Beauval Commercial Junction (Forks of Hwy 165 and Hwy 155) has been closed until it can be assessed due to damaged caused by flooding. The culvert has been washed out and water is flowing at a high rate eroding the road below the asphalt.

Security will be putting up a checkpoint and barricades (our local fire suppression crews will be posted at the gate).

No vehicles will be allowed through at this time as everytime someone drives over it, currently, chunks of sand fall.

This section of road is unsafe in its current state.

Thank you for your understanding. These measures have been put in place for everyone’s safety.

A collage of memories for the Wildfire 2025 season created by Velma J at CIPI and also a parting gift for our good friend Kelly Sawchuk who spent a better part of his summer keeping us informed regarding the fires and acting as a liaison between SPSA and the communities. Kelly always told it like it was and he was the first to tell us to get the heck out of dodge when the fires approaching Beauval at an alarming rate on July 10th.

Thank you Kelly and thank you Velma for the memories of collaboration, kinship, and bravery of all those who stood their ground and kept Beauval safe and for those who cooked, cleaned, assisted in any way to make sure everything ran smoothly. Thousand tinikis!

The highway leading up to ERFN - La Plonge (just past the bridges) is closed due to the condition of the road.

Excessive local traffic has damaged the road and now semis and other vehicles are getting stuck.

As the construction crews repairing the bridge will not be attempting to improve the condition of this road tonight, it is closed until further notice.

Continue to check the SK Highways Hotline for updates.
