On the occasion of their 125th anniversary, the Sisters of St. Martha are commended for their pivotal contributions to Antigonish's growth over the past 125 years. Since their founding in 1901, the Marthas have supported St. Francis Xavier University and broadened their scope to include healthcare, education, and community services. Notably, their endeavors led to the establishment of St. Martha's Hospital and Nursing School. The sisters persist in caring for patients, students, families, and those in need across the country. By merging practical service with compassion and leadership, they have become integral to the town's fabric. Their legacy is reflected in local institutions and the cooperative spirit that defines Antigonish. Extending gratitude on behalf of the Town of Antigonish, appreciation is expressed to the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Martha for 125 years of dedication and congratulations are offered on this milestone.
