We are seeking an energetic, organized, and community-minded individual to lead our Babysitting Course program and support youth engagement initiatives throughout the summer. They will prepare, coordinate, and facilitate ACS’s Babysitting Course for youth ages 11–15. The course is delivered in a week-long, camp-style format during two separate summer sessions.

This position is ideal for a student interested in education, youth work, recreation, social services, community development, or non-profit work who enjoys working directly with young people and families.

Grocery costs are rising and every dollar matters… not only for the families we serve but also for the many families who support us. We have put together a list of most-needed food bank items along with current sale prices from local grocery store flyers. A small saving at checkout can make a big difference for a neighbour in need. Thank you for helping us stretch every dollar, every donation and every act of kindness a little bit further.

Donation bins are located at each of the grocery stores included in this list (Ancaster Food Basics, Ancaster Giant Tiger and Ancaster Longo’s). Donations (unexpired, unopened, non-perishable grocery items only) can be brought to Ancaster Community Services at 300 Wilson Street East, Ancaster (Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm). There is a donation bin located in the lower foyer.

📣 Registration for the 2026 Babysitting Course is now OPEN! 🍼 This fun and interactive course teaches students 11-14 years of age all about important topics such as fire safety, basic first aid, and more.

Cost: $75

Register for ONE of two Sessions:
Week 1: July 6-10 (1pm – 3pm*)
Week 2: July 20-24 (1pm – 3 pm*)
*Please note the time change from previous years

🟣 Spaces are limited to 20 students per session, so please register as soon as possible to ensure a spot. Fill out the online registration form available on our website.

⚠️ Once you have registered for the program, please pay for the course by e-transfer, over the phone with a credit card, or stop by the office.

Many thanks and congratulations! 🌟 During our National Volunteer Week celebrations, we had the opportunity to recognize several volunteers for their many years of dedicated service.💐

Special mention to these longstanding volunteers:
⭐️ Barb who has given 31 years of service and continues to serve the community
⭐️ Mary and Bob who have retired after 28 years of service
⭐️ Margaret who has retired after 24 years of service

A special thank you to Barb, Mary, Bob, and Margaret for their incredible commitment. Through the Meals on Wheels and Frozen Meals programs, and especially during the busy holiday season, you have supported so many grateful clients. Whenever help was needed, you were there! 🙌

Every act of volunteering, big or small, helps bring our community together. We are deeply grateful for all that you have done. 🩷
