Well, we’ve reached the end of our road. It's time to pack up our petition sheets and send them to Elections Alberta for certification.
Our deepest thanks go out to every person that donated, volunteered, and otherwise contributed to this recall effort. Everyone that participated cares deeply about our community, and we are grateful for their time and effort.
This campaign was not without its challenges. Our volunteers faced some of the harshest weather of the year. Nevertheless, they pushed through with frozen fingers and toes, took time away from family and friends, all to give the people of Airdrie-East the opportunity to make their voices heard.
We are thankful to the Airdrie-East residents who engaged in thoughtful discussion online and in person around the actions of our current government. Your signatures are more than just names on a page. They represent the desire for meaningful change in this province, and we appreciate every single one.
Unfortunately, our efforts did not produce the result we hoped for. We did not reach the threshold of signatures needed to trigger a recall vote. However, just because this effort was not successful, it doesn’t mean the work is finished. We encourage everyone to stay informed, stay engaged, and continue to hold our elected representatives accountable.
