A NEW LOOK, A RENEWED COMMITMENT

The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) officially unveiled its new corporate identity, a fresh uniform and logo that symbolize more than just a change in appearance.

As Director General Mr. Phemelo Ramakorwane rightly stated, this new identity is about professionalism, credibility, and legitimacy. It is a promise to the people of Botswana that the fight against illicit drugs is being waged with integrity and visibility.

Minister for State President, Defence and Security, Hon. Moeti Caesar Mohwasa, reminded us of the true stakes: This is not just about enforcement; it is about protecting our families, our youth, and the future of our nation. While we must deal decisively with traffickers, we must also extend a hand of rehabilitation and support to those struggling with addiction. Recovery is possible.

The message was clear: The DEA cannot succeed alone. It requires a united front.

I echo the call to all Batswana:

● Dikgosi
● Educators
● Faith Based Organizations
● The Private Sector

Let us all join hands to protect our communities from this scourge. Let us reject the stigma surrounding rehabilitation and celebrate the lives that can be restored.

A MORNING OF UNITY, HONOUR, AND HOPE ‼️‼️‼️

This morning, the Office of the Member of Parliament had the profound honour of accepting the invitation of Mma Kgosi Thandiwe Gaborone to witness a truly inspiring event. We were privileged to stand alongside the royal house, the Tlokweng community, and the Batlokwa tribe.

The Mohumagadi Wa Batlokwa Foundation held a heartfelt initiative to distribute blankets to the students of Tlokweng schools. To see the faces of these children light up, knowing that their well-being is a priority, was a powerful reminder of why we serve.

This event was a testament to a simple but profound truth: When Royalty and the Community stand united, with one heart and one purpose, anything is possible.

The success of today was not by chance. It was born from the incredible spirit of collaboration shown by:

· The Tribal Administration,
· The dedicated teachers and school management,
· The supportive parents,
· The hardworking government employees,
· And every single stakeholder who contributed their time and resources.

MEET OUR 7TH HERO: MARGARET MODISE – THE VOICE THAT SHAPED A NATION

Today, we pause to honor a daughter of Tlokweng who didn't just witness history, she broadcasted it. As we unveil the 7th honoree on the Tlokweng Wall of Fame, we celebrate Margaret Modise, a woman whose voice became the soundtrack of Botswana's post independence journey.

Born into the revered Seitshiro family, Margaret didn't simply climb the ladder at Radio Botswana, she built the foundation for others to stand on. She stood shoulder to shoulder with legends like Motshegetsi Gasennelwe, Banyana Segwe, Geoffrey Motshidisi, and Phillip Moshotle, carving out the identity of RB1 during a time when public broadcasting was the heartbeat of our young nation.

But Margaret was not just a voice behind the microphone. She was a visionary leader. Rising from Program Manager to Head of RB1, she broke glass ceilings in the executive boardrooms of the Mass Media Complex. She revitalized current affairs and ensured that the stories we told reflected the soul of our people.

TO THE YOUTH OF TLOKWENG, LISTEN CLOSELY:

Margaret understood that culture is our currency. She produced timeless Radio Dramas in the 90's, with "Mookwa ke boladu jaaka Ntsi" standing as one of the finest dramas she ever brought to life. Through programs like Africa Beat and Maokaneng, her longest-running musical productions, she opened the doors of state of the art studios to local artists, making sure our folklore and music were recorded and preserved for generations.

She proved that you don't have to leave your roots to reach the top. She took the discipline of Tlokweng and the dignity of the Seitshiro name to the highest levels of government media.

Her story is your blueprint. It says: Prepare your voice, hone your craft, and lead with integrity. The nation is always listening.

Let us celebrate this remarkable veteran and show our youth that greatness starts right here in our village!
