Can you help turn ideas into practical solutions for Botswanaโ€™s circular economy and waste challenges?

The 10-month assignment will support an innovation programme designed to generate practical, youth-led and scalable solutions for improved waste management and Botswanaโ€™s transition towards a circular economy, while strengthening green entrepreneurship, innovation and pathways for promising solutions to move towards implementation.

As the ๐ˆ๐ง๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐จ๐ญ๐œ๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ & ๐‡๐š๐œ๐ค๐š๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ง ๐‹๐ž๐š๐ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ญ, the selected consultant will guide the programme from design through delivery, including:

โ€ข Designing the participant screening and selection process
โ€ข Developing and facilitating the Innovation Bootcamp
โ€ข Facilitating the Hackathon and supporting the judging process
โ€ข Supporting mentorship, solution refinement and prototype development
โ€ข Strengthening business models, commercialisation and investment readiness
โ€ข Providing post-Hackathon technical advisory support to selected teams

Teams got together, connected their electronics, tested their circuits, fixed what wasnโ€™t working, tested againโ€ฆ and kept going.

This week, we welcomed Oodi College of Applied Arts and Technology Cohort 1 to UniPod Botswana for a 3-Day Digital Fabrication Training.

Digital fabrication is changing the way we design, create and prototype taking an idea from a computer screen and turning it into a physical product.
Through 3D modelling, 3D printing, laser cutting and hands-on prototyping, participants experienced the power of digital tools to design it, make it and bring it to life.

And this is just the beginning!
Three more Oodi cohorts are coming.
