UPDATE ON DPSM vs TAWU and BOGOWU ENGAGEMENTS

This update covers financial year 2025/26.

During the year we engaged with the employer on a number of issues including but not limited thereto:

1. Public Service Employees conditions of service negotiations.
2. Though at a very limited scope, establishment of the Public Service Bargaining Council (PSBC).
3. Other matters relating to various government ministries.

While in most instances these engagements were cordial and yielded positive outcomes, matters pertaining to PSBC and conditions of service negotiations were clouded by imminent hostilities, including clandestine discriminatory practices.

The DPSM unorthodox practices and discriminatory tendencies forced TAWU and BOGOWU to officially register a complaint.

As of today, we await DPSM response to our complaint letter submitted on January 07, 2026.

The letter in question raised the following key issues:

a) DPSM exclusion of TAWU and BOGOWU from the processes of decision making especially those affecting pertinent issues.
b) Unfettered discrimination against TAWU and BOGOWU, to the extent that Parliament was even used to perpetuate such.

Our members and the public are assured of our unwavering commitment to fight for justice and fair dispensation. Future steps that may involve litigation and or reporting to International Labour Organization (ILO), shall be communicated in due course especially if there is no amicable solution.
