Public Procurement Regulatory Authority The official Facebook account of PPRA PPRA is a parastatal organisation operating under the Ministry of Finance.

The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) was established through the Public Procurement Act of 2021 (Cap 42:08), which came into effect on 14 April 2022. The Authority’s primary mandate is to regulate and oversee the public procurement system in Botswana by setting standards and practices that promote transparency, fairness, and value for money in the procurement of works, services, and supplies. PPRA also monitors the performance of Procuring Entities (PEs) and enforces compliance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2021 and its regulations. In addition, PPRA is responsible for contractor registration, capacity building, and the professionalisation of the public procurement function across government. The Authority is governed by a nine-member Board appointed by the Minister of Finance in accordance with Section 13 (1) of the Act. The Board provides strategic direction and oversight to ensure that PPRA effectively fulfils its mandate. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as an Ex-Officio Member of the Board.

A Clean Botswana Starts With you!

PPRA will be conducting a litter picking campaign along Maakgadigau Road, Gaborone West Industrial on Friday, 18 September 2026, from 09:00 to 11:00 hours.

PPRA will be joined by GABCON, the Ministry of Basic Education and Child Welfare (Supplies Office), and the Accountant General’s Office (Gabs Support Service) for the campaign. Let us keep our environment clean.

The initiative forms part of the organisations' CSR activity for the 2026/27 Financial Year, promoting environmental responsibility and cleaner public space which is also in alignment to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Botswana Advocate Duma Gideon Boko's clarion call for clean-up campaigns.
