Bhutanโ€™s busiest land gateway has a new face. The Tourist Service Centre at the Regional Immigration Office in Phuentshogling reopened on Friday after a major renovation. Officials say the makeover is more than just about comfort. With tourist numbers climbing again, they say that the impression made at the border can decide whether visitors keep coming.

Civil Servants of Bhutan Join Project 108

The Royal Civil Service Commission, on behalf of the Civil Servants of Bhutan, has made an offering towards the preparation of the Zung, the sacred heart of the 108 Jangchub Chortens.

In its letter of offering, the Commission shared, โ€œThis offering carries with it the aspirations of the Civil Service, not only of those who serve today, but also of those who have served before us and those who will serve in the years to come.โ€

Made through the Civil Service Welfare Scheme, the offering reflects the enduring spirit of service to the Tsa-Wa-Sum and the commitment of the Civil Service to His Majesty The Kingโ€™s vision through Project 108.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the generations of Civil Servants whose service has helped shape our nation, and whose collective offering will now become part of the sacred Zung at the heart of the 108 Jangchub Chortens.

May the merit of this offering contribute towards the fulfilment of His Majesty The Kingโ€™s aspirations and the peace and wellbeing of all sentient beings.
