Reconstruction Begins on 150ft Sirini Bailey Bridge.

Reconstruction of the 150-foot Bailey bridge over the Pachu at Sirini, Phuentsholing Gewog, commenced today following a traditional prayer ceremony to the guardian deities.
To expedite the project, bridge components were pre-ordered from a firm in Kolkata and are expected to arrive shortly. The remaining fabrication and assembly work has been awarded to a local Bhutanese contractor for immediate ex*****on.
Once completed, the new bridge will reduce travel times to Peuna (Denchukha Gewog) and nearby communities in Phuentsholing Gewog by 45 to 60 minutes

As a demonstration of solidarity and shared responsibility, the Phuentsholing Gewog and Drungkhag administrations have deployed an excavator since few days back to clear road blockages leading to Puena Chhu (River) in Denchukha Gewog. This machinery complements the JCB backhoe already deployed by Samtse Dzongkhag's Denchukha Gewog. Clearing works are currently in full swing, with completion expected as soon as possible.

The mountain ridge situated directly above the STCBL fuel depot,Amochu at Deling Marbi under Phuntsholing Gewog is experiencing active, progressive mass wasting. Landslide debris continuously accumulates in the underlying gorges. During heavy rainfall, intense stormwater runoff flushes this accumulated material downstream, completely choking the culvert bridge on the Phuentsholing–Samtse highway. Consequently, a thick slurry of mud and debris overflows the bridge, inundating the highway and the newly developed Phuntsholing Township Development Project (PTDP) infrastructure. This recurring issue causes severe traffic disruptions and significant economic losses to the nation.
