🌿 Happy World Ranger Day! 🌿
Today, we proudly honour all Rangers around the world, especially the dedicated Rangers of Bhutan.
Being a Ranger is not an easy job. They work day and night in remote forests, face harsh weather, dangerous wildlife, difficult terrain, and long days away from their families to protect our forests, wildlife, and natural resources.
Despite these challenges, Rangers are rewarded with the rare opportunity to witness the beauty of nature, protect endangered species, and help preserve Bhutan's rich biodiversity for future generations.
Thank you to every Ranger for your courage, commitment, and selfless service. Your hard work keeps our forests alive and our wildlife safe.

🌴Social Forestry Day 2026🌴

Theme: "Plant Together, Restore Forever, Secure Our Future".

On 2 June 2026, in commemoration of the Coronation Day of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the Lhamoizingkha Forest Range Office observed Social Forestry Day through a plantation program within the Range office premises.

As part of the initiative, staff members collectively planted 55 Areca nut (Areca catechu) saplings to enhance greenery, improve the office environment, and establish a sustainable source of income for the office welfare fund in the future. This plantation reflects the commitment, teamwork, and shared responsibility of the Range staff toward environmental conservation and the productive use of available land resources.

On this special occasion, we pay tribute to the visionary leadership of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, whose dedication to environmental conservation continues to inspire Bhutan's path toward sustainable development.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all staff members for their valuable contribution. May these saplings grow into a lasting symbol of our collective effort to secure a greener and more resilient future.

SMART Training Conducted for Range Technical Staff (01/06/2026)

A one-day intensive SMART Training was successfully conducted for the Range's technical staff, facilitated by Mr. Dawa Tshering, Assistant Forester.

The training focused on understanding of the SMART platform, including patrol planning and implementation, data collection, data management, analysis, and report generation. Through practical demonstrations and interactive sessions, staff gained valuable hands-on experience in utilizing SMART for monitoring and conservation management.

This training aimed to enhance technical competencies, bridge knowledge gaps, and promote evidence-based decision-making through SMART-driven patrol operations.

The training is expected to contribute significantly to improving conservation outcomes, strengthening field monitoring, and supporting the effective management of natural resources within the Range and the Division as a whole.
