Embassy for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Brasilia, Brazil Formal diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the Federative Republic of Brazil in 1965.

Trinidad and Tobago established a resident mission in the then capital Rio de Janeiro in 1968 and was headed by Chargé d’Affaires, Dr. Harry Major until the Government appointed Ambassador Wilfred Andrew Rose as Trinidad and Tobago’s first Ambassador to Brazil. In 1970, Dr. Major was again called upon to assist in the relocation and establishment of the Trinidad and Tobago Mission from Rio de Jane

iro to the new modern capital of Brasília and prepare the Chancery for the incoming ambassador, His Excellency Albert Gerard Montano. In 1973, Ambassador Gerard Montano signed the deed for the 22, 500 m² lot of land in the Embassy Sector donated by the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Brasilia provides diplomatic representation for Trinidad and Tobago to its host nation, the Federative Republic of Brazil, as well as the Argentine Republic, the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Paraguay and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. The Embassy sees its objectives as promoting and advancing the interests of Trinidad and Tobago in those locations, fostering closer ties with all the countries of its accreditation and building on the relationships which already exist. These objectives are underscored by the underlying raison d’être of seeking opportunities to advance the social, political and economic interests of Trinidad and Tobago at the regional, hemispheric and global levels.

Day 2 of T&T’s delegation at the United Nations General Assembly

Trinidad and Tobago's delegation, led by the Honourable Sean Sobers, M.P., Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, began day two of their participation in the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The delegation includes Mr. Nicholas Morris, M.P., Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs as well as the Office of the Prime Minister; the Honourable Dominic Smith, Minister of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence; Mr. Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and Head of the Foreign Service; and Ambassador Neil Parsan, Trinidad and Tobago's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

The delegation was seen departing the Trinidad and Tobago Mission in New York to attend today's proceedings of the UNGA.

The Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago warmly welcomed today three Trinidadians who are here in Brasilia for a musical performance on July 26th at the AfroLatinas Festival in Brasilia at the National Museum.

Visiting the diplomatic mission today July 24th to meet staff, was Vanessa ´´Nessa Preppy´´ John who is a soca, reggae and pop artiste, with DJ Chucky Rayban and Manager and Publicist Adanna Asson.

During a visit to the TechnoShow Comigo in Goias on April 7th, H.E. Ambassador Gerard Greene was invited to explore the Atlético Goianiense Football Club.

The club adopted the Trinidad and Tobago flag because of its similar colours.

During the tour, the Ambassador met with the club's Vice President and one of its Board members.
