Слънчево Светилище „Палеокастро”
Светилището се намира в северните склонове на Сакар планина между Тополовград и с. Хлябово, на около 3 км западно от града. Над 150 слънчеви дискове са моделирани в скалите, увенчаващи хребета на невисок рид. Слънцата са изработени както във висок, така и в нисък релеф. Могат да се видят и вписани един в друг дискове. Диаметърът им варира от 0.20 до 1 метър. На най-високото място на хребета скалите образуват защитна ивица, която е използвана за изграждането на крепост в началото на 1 хил. пр. Хр. Крепостта е многократно преустройвана и е функционирала и през Средновековието. От нея идва и името „Палеокастро”, с което е назовано светилището.

Solar silent sanctuary “Paleocastro”
The sanctuary is located on the northern slopes of Sakar Mountain between Topolovgrad city and Hlyabovo village, at around 3 km south from the city. Over 150 solar discs are modeled in the rocks, crowning the mountain ridge of a not-too-high elevation. The suns are made in bas-relief as well as in high relief. One can also see discs build in one another. The discs’ diameter varies between 0.20 and 1 meter. The solar discs face northeast and east and are lit by the first solar rays of the rising sun. As in the solar sanctuary near Melnitza village, in this sanctuary are also found rock-cut platforms and pits in the vicinity of the suns. On the top of the elevation, between the rocks was discovered a winged solar disc.
On the highest location of the mountain ridge the rocks forms a defensive barrier, used for the construction of a fortress in the beginning of the 1st mill. BC. The fortress is reconstructed multiple times and functions during the Middle Ages. The name “Paleocastro”, given to the sanctuary, originates from the name of the fortress.
