NL/ Een real-life laboratorium over het ontwerpen en bouwen van solidaire woonvormen met thuislozen op tijdelijk leegstaande terreinen in het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest. Solidair
Mobiel Wonen ontwerp en bouwt gedurende twee jaar, samen met een achttal thuislozen, betaalbare, mobiele woningen op een stedelijke ruimte in afwachting van herbestemming (Waiting Space). Het vertrekpunt is de creatie van een collectieve ruimte die dienst doet als ontmoetingsruimte, werkplaats voor de toekomstige bewoners, in interactie met de buurt. Daarrond worden de woonunits geconcipieerd. Hierna zullen de thuislozen gedurende een aantal jaar op deze plek kunnen verblijven, in afwachting van de definitieve herbestemming van het terrein. Wanneer het terrein uiteindelijk herontwikkeld wordt kunnen zij zich, dankzij het mobiele karakter van de woningen, verplaatsen naar een ander tijdelijk leegstaand terrein of naar een andere vorm van huisvesting overschakelen. Solidair Mobiel Wonen is een co-creatief (onderzoeks)project van Samenlevingsopbouw Brussel, KU Leuven, Faculteit Architectuur en Centrum voor Algemeen Welzijn (CAW) Brussel, Atelier Groot Eiland, de Sociale Innovatiefariek en een groep thuislozen, deels gefinancierd door het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest (Innoviris). Studenten en docenten architectuur staan mee in voor het zoeken naar een geschikte locatie en het ontwerpen en realiseren van de units. Atelier Groot Eiland leidt de thuislozen op om mee te bouwen aan hun toekomstige woning. CAW staat, samen met het opbouwwerk van SamenlevingsopbouwBrussel in voor de individuele en groepsbegeleiding van de toekomstige bewoners. Ook werken zij aan de buurtbetrokkenheid en onderzoeken ze de praktische en legale aspecten voor het ontwikkelen van het concept van mobiel solidair wonen op lange termijn. In het kader van dit project werken en bouwen / denken en doen al deze partners echter op een erg interactieve manier samen, waardoor ze de grenzen van hun disciplines overstijgen. Hierdoor kunnen echte innovatieve en duurzame benaderingen en oplossingen ontwikkeld worden. In het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest staan 44.332 gezinnen op de wachtlijst voor sociale huisvesting. Bovendien is het aantal dak- en thuislozen met 33 % gestegen, sinds 2010. Solidair Mobiel Wonen wil bijdragen aan de aanpak van het tekort aan betaalbare huisvesting door het ontwikkelen, testen en verfijnen van een vernieuwend veerkrachtig woon- en leefmodel. Doordat de thuislozen mee kunnen instaan voor het ontwerp en de bouw van hun eigen huis en thuis, krijgen ze letterlijk opnieuw greep op hun leef- en woonsituatie. En, door het project te situeren op tijdelijk leegstaande terreinen worden de stedelijke omgeving en de buurt gedynamiseerd. ENG / Co-creating & Building Solidary Housing for Houseless: A Model for Mobile Dwelling in the Brussels Capital Region
In the Brussels Capital Region, 44.332 residents are on the waiting list for social housing. Moreover, the number of house- and homeless people increased by 33% since 2010. There is a clear need to develop alternative forms of housing that are better oriented to the housing of vulnerable groups; especially the houseless. In this context, the SWOT-mobile design-build project aims to address the affordable housing problem by developing, testing and refining a resilient model for the co-creation of solidary living in mobile homes in vacant lots in Brussels. Through the co-creation of eight affordable housing units, this project will develop prototypes of alternative solidary housing. This also includes creating collective spaces, enabling interactions with the neighbourhood, as an essential element. The project will bring various stakeholders together in a participatory living lab. This lab will result in the co-creation of a learning space with the houseless. The houseless will take part in the construction of their own home, and get a grip on their life and their housing/living track. Experimental forms of empowerment and inclusion will be explored with a focus on solidarity. The design of the units will be made in two design studios with the students KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture with the active contribution of eight houseless people under the guidance of CAW Brussels and support of Samenlevingsopbouw Brussels. The project will provide more than just homes. By temporarily situating on vacant areas, it also aims to address urban issues. By enabling interaction with the urban environment and community it will explore alternative ways to contribute to urban resilience. FR/Co-créer et construire des logements solidaires pour les sans-abri: un modèle de logement mobile dans la région Bruxelles-Capitale. Dans la région Bruxelles-Capitale, 44.332 personnes sont sur la liste d'attente pour obtenir un logement social. Le nombre de sans-abri et de personnes sans domicile fixe a augmenté de 33% depuis 2010. Il existe un besoin évident de développer des formes alternatives de logement qui prennent en ligne de compte les groupes les plus vulnérables et plus particulièrement les SDF. Dans ce cadre, le projet SWOT(conception et construction mobile) vise à s'attaquer à la problématique du logement abordable en développant, en testant et en mettant au point un modèle résilient pour la co-création d'un modèle solidaire de logements mobiles sur des terrains inoccupés à Bruxelles. Par la co-création de 8 unités de logements abordables, ce projet permettra le développement de prototypes de logements solidaires alternatifs. Ce qui inclut la création d'espaces collectifs permettant des interactions avec le voisinage, un élément essentiel. Le projet rassemblera divers acteurs dans un vivier participatif. Ce "laboratoire" permettra la co-création d'un espace d'apprentissage avec les sans-abri. Ces derniers participeront à la construction de leur propre maison, reprendront le contrôle de leur projet de logement et de leur projet de vie. Des formes expérimentales de responsabilisation et d'inclusion seront explorées en se focalisant sur la solidarité. Le projet ira au-delà du logement: En utilisant des espaces inoccupé, l'idée est également de répondre aux problématiques urbaines. En facilitant l'interaction avec l'environnement urbain et la communauté, le projet explorera des façons alternatives de contribuer à la résilience urbaine.
